I personally find that 5e is a little too easy mode to be honest. It's great for new players that have no idea how to play a TTRPG, but a bit too bland for a more experienced player. The new system really relies and a DM with better storytelling skills. If you have a average DM 5e can make it a worse experience from my time with the system.

I think it's actually possible to make a passable fake pillstream because Ralph doesn't have any variety in the things/he does or says. The only way to abort the retort is to do the killstream but better so why not do it with a fake Ralph.
