Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

After going back and playing Vice City, I think GTA VI should take a page from the last generation and strip you of all your weapons and armor when you're busted or wasted. And for that matter, make it plain old easier to be ventilated from just a few baddies on-screen.

IV and V were a nice experience but as games, boy they could be forgettable and dull. III and Vice City had the fast-paced wacky action down and having some real consequence for failure helped quite a bit.
Drowning in ankle deep water was total bullshit and you know it.

Sonic Adventure 2 had major issues, but it had more ambition and vision than the overwhelming majority of big-studio releases these days.

The truck chase set piece in City Escape is an iconic part of gaming history that you just don’t see anymore.

You have to think long and hard to find a sequence that tops it.

The Shadowrun game for 360/PC was a great shooter and is the reason I even got into the Shadowrun TTRPG
I distinctly remember being blown the fuck away that you could fly around with a glider and having a ton of fun with the combat. I was confused as to why people weren't too thrilled about it. Of course I didn't know anything about Shadowrun at the time.

I didn't get it either. The Magic/Race system made the game interactions very interesting. The teleport and backstab, the rezzes, how gust interacted with smoke and the Glider. I mean it wasn't OMG the greatest but it was a pretty solid game. Maybe people didn't like it due to having too many options or got backstabbed too many times.

From what I understood, the dislike primarily stemmed from it being a FPS, and being crossplatform. Place a PC player against a XBOX, and usually the PC wins. Because he can aim faster.

Shitposting and trash talking are the best part of multiplayer games. It's utterly absurd how hard the industry has tried to "sanitize" its online experiences in recent years to avoid "toxicity." Anybody complaining about "toxic" players should be banned from whatever game they're complaining about and exiled from their forums and tech support systems.
Banning "toxic" shitposters, while leaving degenerate RPers. I'm looking at you, Warframe.

Oh man EA and the ADL are apparently teaming up together and also partnering with all major sporting franchises for a massive moral rollout to curb gamer no no words. Basically if you want EA gamnes on your system you're going to have to abide by their new rules.

I could not ask for a more perfect shit salad. Everyone involved is going to get hurt.

Playing an RPG character of the opposite sex doesn't make you gay or a troon. But unless you have a specific character in mind that you want to RP as, it gets boring quickly.

RPing is gay. That's not really an unpopular opinion though, it's shared by the vast majority of normal people who just wants to play the game.

Fuck paying for any game published by EA anyway; everything they touch turns to shit.*

*Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets a pass for at least being not terrible, albeit too short and too easy.

NFS : Most Wanted (2012) is great.

The Alola region games for Pokemon were quite bad.

There was no point buying any current gen console for the past 6 years until God of War and Breath of the Wild were released.

Don’t most people do that so they can have a nice butt to look at?
Yeah, but that's interesting for all of 5 minutes. Then you start looking for ways to make her hotter and tinker with character creation, and it seldom turns out the way you want.

I think Gust hit gold with Atelier Ryza and it's been a vast improvement over the past installments.

Getting rid of time management and making the game be more focused on exploration really opened up what the series is capable of doing.

The sequel's pre-order launch yesterday sold out world wide and today they put up more stock of the limited editions and both Switch and PS4 are down to 20% remaining stock. It's actually an instance where the term "fastest selling" actually applies.
