The Politics of HollyWeird: Tinsel Town Gets Naked for Votes

Just what America needs right now: a lecture on how to vote from unclothed celebs.

Editor’s Note: Whether on screen or off, Hollywood can always be counted on to keep us entertained. This is especially true when it comes to politics. Join us each week as we shine the spotlight on Tinsel Town’s A-listers and their whacky and sometimes inspiring takes on today’s current events.

Get Naked and Vote

The A- (and B) listers of HollyWeird have an important public service announcement: Get Naked and Vote. Sex sells, right? So, apparently, these actors believe showing their naked bodies will inspire the American people to get out and vote. The fact that this presidential election is one of the most contentious and important in the history of our nation has nothing to do with it. Celebs like Sarah Silverman and Mr. Incredible Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, are just some of the cast in the video ad not just telling us plebes to vote, but also “how” to do so.

The movie stars stripped down to warn voters about naked ballots, which require voters to put their mail-in ballots into two separate envelopes, or else they will not be counted. Using her hands to shield her bosom, Silverman said: “If you don’t do exactly as I tell you, then your ballot could get thrown out.” Comedian Chelsea Handler exclaimed, “Naked ballots – you don’t want one of those!” Chris Rock tells us to make sure and “read the instructions,” since I guess we aren’t smart enough to figure that out on our own. If that’s the case, then perhaps we have no business voting!
The celebs kick off the public service announcement by telling everyone: “I’m naked.” They had to make sure they reinforced that bit of information, I guess. Actress Tiffany Haddish’s appearance was a bit frightening since she’s in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, “completely butt-a** naked.” Comedian Amy Schumer, pointing a warning finger, tells us to “take your clothes off and vote.” The Hulk (not looking so hunky with his naked chest and hair that looks like it hasn’t seen a comb in a week) perhaps had the most insightful comment when he said: “I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking, Ruffalo, put your clothes on.”
The PSA naked video wasn’t the only example of HollyWeird’s finest showing off their bods as a way to make people vote. Kylie Jenner struck a provocative pose in an itty-bitty bikini with the caption: “But are you registered to vote? … let’s make a plan to vote together.” Step Up’s Jenna Dewan wanted to show off her post-pregnancy figure, so she took a picture while wearing her underwear, saying her diet includes – wait for it – voting! But perhaps the most ridiculous and desperate award should go to Tana Mongeau, the Storytime YouTube comedian, who told her subscribers, all 5.4 million of them: “if u send me proof u voted for Biden, I’ll send you a nude for free.”

Cheers and Jeers

Sometimes, HollyWeird players make headlines for silly or bizarre happenings, so here is a collection of newsworthy doings — honorable and dishonorable — by the tenants of Tinsel Town.

Spoiler alert: nobody that you wanted to see naked.

This is just dumb. What we need is some good old fashioned porn spoofs of the election cycle. We can have a chubby blonde boomer play the part of trump anally rawdogging a spic and some geriatric fuck can play biden sniffing some neotenous teen's hair while groping her breasts.
We could even have Kamala sucking BBC while Pence takes a car battery to gays' nipples.

Now that would get people excited about politics.

Someone thought this was a good idea. Someone, somewhere, sat down and told a group of board members that if they got Amy Schumer naked, it would help encourage voter participation, and the board members believed them.
I don't know who the hell Amy Schumer is, but after looking at that, I most definitely don't want to know.

The next time one of them preaches about objectivism with the human body, tell them that these exact same people decided to go nude for VOTES.

She's the physical manifestation of "vagina humour." She is a chronically unfunny person, but because of her political and social connections she's hog-tied herself to Hollywood and it's impossible to get rid of her no matter how agonizingly unfunny she makes herself out to be.

Go ahead, try and survive four minutes of this.

Well, that was bland and uninteresting. She clearly has one thing to joke about. The teeth joke, meh, maybe if I were high off my ass I would've given it a chuckle. But I'll have to admit, seeing her play with the little kid and the glittery necklace in the end was kinda cute.

It could work. Video starts with her saying "I'm naked", then the camera starts slowly panning down. It only stops once you cast your ballot.

They're doing this because the rate of mail ballot rejections from incompetence is really high and overwhelmingly affects Democrats, who are voting by mail. This isn't necessarily a dumb move if the goal is just to reach dummies and put the thought in their head that hey're supposed to use both envelopes.

Guardian article about it
North Carolina requires mail-in voters to get a witness for their ballots and at least 7,000 mail-in ballots have been flagged across the state because of a deficiency, according to data collected by Michael Bitzer, a professor at Catawba College who closely tracks voting data in the state. As of Wednesday, 40% of rejected ballots – 2,871 – were from Black voters, even though they comprised only 16% of the overall ballots returned. (A spokesman for the state board of elections cautioned some of the data may be outdated because local election offices have not been entering rejection data into the statewide system while legal challenges are pending.)

The Rev Anthony Spearman, the head of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP, attributed the higher rate at which Black voters’ ballots were being flagged to the fact that African Americans traditionally have not widely voted by mail in the state, instead opting for in-person voting. Many voters are getting tripped up by the state’s requirement that mail-in voters get a witness to sign their absentee ballot, he said.

“The African American community, many of them for the first time, are utilizing absentee ballots and have not been cultivated to the practices thereof. There is a level of them being not aware of the process and how it goes and so they’re not filling out their forms correctly,” he said.

Despite making up only 16% of the ballot returns, blacks make up 40% of rejected ballots (in NC).

Basically mail voting incompetence is expected to lead up to 1 million or more votes lost, mostly affecting Dems, and it's decimating the black vote because they're struggling to do them properly.

The data from NC basically says it's causing Dems to lose 1% of their mail vote, and it's costing Reps 0.8% of their mail vote. This affects Reps less since they're only returning 1/3 the mail votes as the Dems. It'l be interesting to see how high the rate is in California, and if it could cost Dems the popular vote.

They should include instructions on how to mail it.

The instructions are included with the fucking ballot. I've been voting by mail since 2016 because lazy and the instructions come in a little sheet in the envelope. People who get their ballots rejected are morons who can't read simple fucking instructions and probably shouldn't be voting anyway. Think of it as a literacy test... oh wait.

Then why are people failing to deliver via mail? Are you serious?

Here that concept in picture form. This was taken from a Democrat mail-in voter in Broward County, Florida. It went up for review by the Broward Canvassing Board. This voter bubbled in like a spastic and scribbled on the ballot. They unnecessarily circled “Dem” and wrote “Dem” on the write-in line for the president. The attempt at the school board vote was even worse as they somehow managed to bubble in between the ovals and then further cemented their fuckup by circling their choice.

I’ve seen Broward‘s mail-in ballot. You have to be a literal retard to screw it up.
