At her weight & appalling state of health, her family doc would have told her to get tested if she genuinely had any of the symptoms she talked about. She was subdued, (for Chantal), when she did her spaghetti mukbang & I understand she was coughing up a lung when she did her live. Like many regions, Ottawa is trying to balance testing people who really should be tested with the many 'worried well' who think THEY warrant testing.

A positive consequence of social distancing, masks & the new emphasis on hand hygiene has been that ALL respiratory infection numbers are markedly down across Canada & that holds true with most nations who keep track. Ottawa so far early in the season in seeing next to no flu & even the usual "back to school" forms of crud are way below historical norms It stands to reason then, that anyone reporting respiratory symptoms is going to be tested.

I doubt she's got coof but no thanks to her for that. Her innate defiance has led to her changing very little, as far as we see it, of her daily food hunting expeditions. The good thing is that her social contacts truly are very limited. But it only take one contact...

But why waste an opportunity to dramatize something? And clearly that's exactly what she was doing with her first post on the topic announcing "very bad news." No Chantal - 'very bad news' is a positive test & worsening symptoms. Many called her out on her actions, a surprising number considering she washes her comment section routinely; way more often than she washes anything else in her life. But this hasn't played out the way she wanted with dozens cooing about how BRAVE she is, how WORRIED they are about her. Instead, she's getting a big dose of 'actions have consequences' & Chantal is not about consequences she can't play to her advantage.

She's shot herself in the foot though in terms of potential content. Coof has impacted most, one way or another & few are going to tolerate her idiocy while she's waiting for results. She & Peetz have to stay home - period; no more late night rant/drives. If she's stupid enough to post one or more of those, I have no doubt someone who watches her will rat her out to Public Health. And yes, increasingly they're following up on such calls.

She might think about dialing back the righteous indignation for a bit though. Een if it's "just" tonsillitis, with her poor health, she's ripe for potentially serious, even life threatening complications.

I think Charlie Gold's video is what set her off this time. It really got under her hooves about handing out the treat bags to the homeless and she went on a spiral from there.

Yep. Charlie gets under her skin and got her pig mad but she somehow had the clarity to not go after Charlie because it NEVER ends well for her so she found someone else. So Chantal tells her she's pathetic and to get a life, meanwhile Chantal leaves a bunch of comments (and went back to edit) so she's clearly above it all. So much goal crushing is happening here.

The only reason I'm optimistic about her having contracted COVID was that horrible coughing fit she had during her last live, which she attributed to an "asthma attack." Of course, that could have been a one-off, but we don't see what Chantal does off-camera, right?

Minor PL: I had symptoms and had to be tested week before last. I had to sit in my car waiting for FIVE hours. While I was cooling my heels endlessly I was thinking that a lot of people who were asymptotic would just fuck on off and leave thereby spreading la coof around.

Stupid people like her never take an hour to THINK through a decision. Or a day, or some other short period of time. They get an idea, think it’s grand and immediately announce it. They need to do it NOW NOW NOW because...REASONS!!

They have no impulse control at all...the same people get an idea to “decorate the porch all crazy for Halloween!” and immediately jump in the car, rush out and buy hundreds’ worth of absurd decorations, high off the excitement. They rush home, dump everything out and rip open all the packages to paw at their goodies. One week later, it’s still sitting in bags untouched and unreturnable, because putting it all up is hard and they don’t feel like it and the new project high has worn off.

I just checked out the Ottawa subreddit. It seems like test results are coming back within 24-48 hours. It's appointment based so I don't know if there's a crazy long wait (didn't seem to be any complaints but I was just looking for test results turnaround time).

Even with the mandatory appointment, (you can't just drive up), she'd better bring a book or something. It's not the waiting for the test that will chafe her chaps as much as the wait for results. That can take as long as a week - there's already a backlog & a lot of people have been getting tested on weekends when they figure they've got the time to spare.

While waiting she & Peetz MUST remain at home & anyone who did any kind of "personal care" to her must as well. I'm pretty sure her family & possibly Peetz's mom also have to be in quarantine but I'm not bothering today to check any further. Ottawa IS starting to do random checks on people who are supposed to be in quarantine & the fines for breaking quarantine go up to $5,000. If she's stupid enough to break quarantine, bet one of her viewers rats her out. Easily enough done - her dox is out there; somewhere. She can't pull the "Nobody TOLD me I had to quarantine" either. If she was tested she was verbally told as well as got it in writing & if she's symptomatic, she's expected to know she has to quarantine.

I'm just going on one thread in the sub and it seems like it's test result times are prioritized (i.e., if you are showing symptoms, you'll get your results back faster than if you are just travelling, etc.). But, I did read that appointments are made two days in advance so if she said she made an appointment yesterday for today, she might be lying. But like our goal-crushing queen, I got bored and am too lazy to do more research.
