Jesus fucking christ. I hate taking the good lord's name in vain, but for chrissake.

Can't seem to do any business at all now without being delayed and getting fucked about all in the name of the coof.

I think they might be using all this as a bit of an excuse.

Dude, businesses are getting fucked over by Covid...unless you are a mega corporation that obviously can handle a fucking apocalypse.

My pizzaria is handling it alright but my restaurant inside a campus is slowly dying due to a combination of illegals food stands right on our door (the head of campus is a raging socialist so issues like us needing to pay rent, rent thats getting harder and harder to pay because these fucking bastards keep stealing our clientel is completely ignored by him) and Covid scaring everyone away from the hospital we usually get clients from.

Im seriously considering this to be the end of our family restaurant...hopefully a miracle happens but I think its going to be just the pizzaria from now on.

So much for hard work and paying rent when some jackasses can walk around with cheap snacks right at the face to the people. The type of people that would rather drink hot black piss if its 50 cents cheaper than our coffee. Covid is being the nail in the coffin...

Even ultra-liberal friends of mine are sick of this shit and starting to notice the memory holing, inconsistencies and changing goalposts.

It may not be enough to change things back to normal-ish (yet), but it's good to see more people are realizing what a disaster this all is as the days go by. They can only do this so long before people realize they aren't mass dying, mass sick and wearing a surgical mask to the gym doesn't do shit.

People kept expecting a hollywood type outbreak, doesnt help thats what the media promised too. Im surprised its taking this long to realize that, if it were to happen, it would have already!

Remember every time you hear "220K dead!!!" in the coming month that these same assholes told us it would be 2.2 million dead.
Also remember the asterisk from the CDC that 6% of the total dead died from the virus alone. And keep in mind the death toll may be inflated based on several instances of death being labeled as caused by COVID-19.

Remember every time you hear "220K dead!!!" in the coming month that these same assholes told us it would be 2.2 million dead.

And remember that Europe now has a combined total of 250k dead despite doing things "the right way" and locking down more aggressively than us. And further remember that most of those European nations are now experiencing outbreaks worse than what we went through in terms of cases per capita. Do total lockdowns stop the virus from spreading? Probably. Is turning your democracy into a fascist dictatorship until a vaccine is developed even remotely a good idea? If it were, Europe would never have attempted to reopen.

This seems victim-blamey.

Getting so sick of the little covid sermon they give you everywhere. Like I was on the phone with the receptionist for my eye doctor and she actually had fucked up the date of my appointment. I heard her say the wrong date and I was starting to say "wait, the twenty t-" and she launches off into the wear a mask wash your hands don't bring anybody else unmarked bills only meet on the bench at midnight don't make eye contact switch the plates on your car don't touch anything don't breathe don't speak and back out of the exam room yada yada. And then she hangs up on me so I have to call again to fix it.

Aside from the lunacy of the coof being harmless to >99% of people who get it, I really don't understand why we're going back on this. In pretty much every business I've been to, there are signs up asking people to wear masks inside, and I still see people wearing them constantly. Thus, if masks are being worn but cases are going up, logic would dictate that masks do jackshit and there's no need to put out a mandate again. But nope, gotta keep looking like you're doing something, even when doing nothing would have been a better move.
Yeah, masks requirements have been paradoxical here. The most recent example happened when Michigan's Supreme Court declared Governor Whitmer's executive orders null and void. My county quickly enacted a mask rule that stated they weren't needed outside if nobody else was around. That actually makes sense. When Whitmer went to the state's director of Health and Human Services to have her mask orders reinstated under his authority, he included the prior requirement to wear masks out in public unless one meets a medical or other listed exception. What happens when someone in this county is truly unaware of the state order and follows the county's regulations?

It also raises the question why Whitmer would use the now-unconstitutional Palpatine law to require masks if the Department of Health and Human Services always had the authority to do that on its own? (/rhetorical)

On a brighter note, my church is making plans to return to in-person worship in early December. There'll be some differences, like some pews being cordoned off and masks still being required, and we'll continue broadcasting services for those that aren't comfortable with attending in person. Still, if all goes well, we'll be back together again in time for Christmas. I was talking with my pastor about it today, and he said that while he's thankful for the technological solutions that have allowed us to continue worship, he's tired of preaching to a webcam

Churches here have been able to reopen during the Spring with social distancing and occupation limits. Many are still live-streaming their services for both the homebound and those not yet comfortable with in-person services. The Catholic churches, and perhaps other Christian churches, in the area have waived their Sunday obligation until Advent in hopes more people will be able (and comfortable) to attend again in time for the holidays. It's been trying for all involved parties here. Pastors miss the social interaction with a full congregation each service and churches still need their congregations to send in their offerings to cover their fixed costs and other bills.

I really hope the election and tax season put a "convenient" end to this insanity that's only so because it's a Clown World run by scumbags.
Tax season is going to be messy. From the online tax seminar I was part of today, some of the biggest issues for Tax Year 2020 are:
  • People collecting unemployment not knowing it's taxable income (and not having taxes withheld or paying them on their own via quarterly estimates).
  • People who work in a city that has income tax being directed to work from home in a city without income tax (or vice versa).
  • People who may owe money but won't be able to pay if COVID has left them underemployed or unemployed with low cash reserves.

Can't seem to do any business at all now without being delayed and getting fucked about all in the name of the coof.
I have business with my bank that needs to be done in-person. First, I was told I needed an appointment. Then, I was encouraged to do it over the phone even though two items I need still require an in-person meeting. I can understand disallowing walk-in appointments for now, but it's a bit presumptuous to think everything can be done online or with a phone call when that's not true.

That said, it won't surprise me if more companies are putting in this annoying boilerplate message to deal with demanding customers and Karens that still think it's business as usual and they can demand the same level and quality of service they'd get pre-COVID when that's not always possible or realistic. Sadly, we have to accommodate the lowest-common denominator these days. *sigh*

This seems victim-blamey.

I can see this cartoon being interpreted one of two ways. In addition to your perception of it being victim blaming, it could also be a reminder that blindly trusting a religious power and refusing to take care of, and personal responsibility for, yourself is unhealthy and often has negative consequences up to and including death. It could go either way, especially based on whatever leanings the cartoonist might have towards the subject.

I don't even know when was the last time our government said anything about lifting restrictions. When I google about how long do we have to wear masks I get articles from March and April. The official government site about the flu just lists restrictions and how "even though the crisis is over since June here's a list of things you cannot do." To be fair it's mostly just stuff like wear your mask, no partying above 500 people and no fun after 11pm, we used to have a pretty good night life in the city but apparently the wuhan zombies come out at night.

Funnily enough, my church is operating on a budget surplus this year. The congregation is still sending in their offerings, either by mail or dropping them off at church, and because we've been doing considerably less activities/services over the year, we haven't been spending a lot of money. Financially, we're in a better position than we were pre-coof. Mentally and spiritually...definitely a lot worse. I'm looking forward to returning, hopefully soon.

Some people do God's work. Newsom, drunk with power, does Satan's work. No other explanation possible. Recall him.

https://www.dailynews.com/2020/10/2...nd-universal-wont-return-for-weeks-or-months/

It's the arbitrary nature of it all that gets to me. Constantly changing the rules and limits, with little explanation and no justification for why six people together is fine, but seven will kill grandma. Your park is one square foot larger than the decreed limit! No money for you!

100% nigga. My company is the same internally right now. I'll be sent to a site to repair something, turns out the stupid faceshield bitches in the office sent all the wrong parts to the wrong site and didn't tell them I was coming. "Due to COVID-19 I'm retarded and now do my office job even worse than before, have fun looking dumb on my behalf"

What's Newsom getting out of this? Why would he purposefully tank his entire state's economy like this? Those themeparks print money and employ thousands of people.
He's still hoping for a Biden Bailout. Apparently he also said if Trump wins the election he'll have no choice to lift restrictions early:

Meanwhile, California's governor just said the opposite. Saying that if the tourist and entertainment industries were found to be worthy sacrifices, things might start getting back to normal by next summer and that you better vote biden so he can bail out the state from the financial offerings at the altar of COVID but things will have to reopen early-- putting you in danger-- if trump is re-elected since he won't be able to rely on a bailout

At this point, he's basically telling us to go vote for Trump then. Although since mail-in ballots already came, I'd assume a sizable percent of D voters in the state already voted which is why he felt comfortable enough saying that.

Sweden has just announced that they're lifting visitation and travel restrictions for the elderly. The coof is still around at a low level but the mortality rate is zero. See kids? Herd immunity is a wonderful thing. Who'd have thought that the only sane country left in the western world would be fucking Sweden?

Meantime in crazy town we're locking up the young so they don't catch a disease that is completely harmless to them. That way it'll take us another year to get to where Sweden is now and meantime lots more of the elderly and fat will die. Yay science!

Same as what Whitmer and Cuomo are getting - a power trip. Ya, also agree he's looking for the Biden Bailout, but since Biden won't win he is fucked. NO Federal money to bail out CA/NY/MI.

Newsom's a greaseball, with a vicious, human-hating animus. Like Whitmer/Cuomo, spawn of Satan. And in the end, like Whitmer/Cuomo, they'll end up in the lowest circle of Hell.
