Maybe if I were a post-transition trans*, I might worry about my birth name being used as an insult to invalidate my psychological gender. But if there are trans* people who don't have that concern for themselves, there's no point arguing with them about it.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if "Deadname-purging" was more of a thing among post-transitions who wanted to cover something up. You know who I am talking about... ;)

Oh I couldn't GUESS who you're talking about.

I really don't think it's ever appropriate to reveal Deadnames. It can expose someone to danger and at the very least people drop those names for a reasons. Trolls will use that name against them, constantly, just as they misgender trans women to get at them. People like this will often claim not to be transphobic, but will go out of their way to use information or methods of attack available to them only because the person they're targeting is trans.

Again, people who may have started out of simply bitching about SJWs turn out to be old school transphobes and in certain communities that doesn't seem to be questioned.

Deadnaming someone is uncool, regardless of who they are. As is the "lowcow" phenomenon's disproportionate focus on trans women and society's vulnerable in general. People like Rani and Chloe are pretty easy targets guys, and they have dealt with more bullshit than most of you ever will. I find a lot of the time these threads involve some sheltered individuals targeting very marginalised people, and telling anyone that disagrees to ironically grow a thicker skin.

This will end in tears.

What would you consider a good lolcow thread? Personally I'm partial to Connor. He's like the misogynistic stalker brother I never had.

Hi there! Welcome to the Kiwi Farms! Generally, it's polite to lurk for a bit to get a feel for a community. It allows you to avoid committing a faux pas, as you've just done.
We're here to talk about Rani and Chloe. If you'd like to have a discussion about how deadnames hurt feefees, feel free to have it elsewhere.

It's not a cool thing to do, I agree, but choosing this place as the hill you're gonna die on isn't going to work out well for you. I'd suggest logging out and not coming back.

Oh dear. I think you've wandered into the wrong forum. The "bullshit" that Rani and Chole have dealt with is mostly self-inflicted, so I don't have any sympathy for them.
We're not a particularly empathetic bunch, so appealing to the better angels of our nature won't work because we lured those angels to an abandoned warehouse and murdered them. We make fun of people who do things that are worthy of being made fun of. If you have a problem with this, you're in the wrong place. You'll be fucking miserable here, and if you're not careful, you'll get your own thread.

You disproportionately target people who are trans and have mental health issues.

This is a fact. There are also several very prominent people who will ungender trans women and say generally transphobic bullshit.

Nobody's "Worthy" of that. By warrant of them being trans alone, I can guarantee that most of their pain is not self inflicted. That's an easy thing to say so you don't have to sympathise with them.

I'm eagerly awaiting the well nuanced, hot shit arguments that demonstrate how I'm wrong.
I have a sneaking suspicion of who this is....
But sure, I'll indulge you:
A name is a word. It has no real power to hurt you, outside of the power you give it. If you're such a whiny bitch that you give that name infinite power, then that's you're fucking problem, not ours.

Also re: the replies. I'm precisely aware of what sort of forum this is.

I just find it ironic that you accuse people like me of silencing you when you seem to have an unspoken policy of anyone disagreeing being told to leave(or harassed into doing so, which seems to be the lingering threat).

I'll go where I please and leave when I please.

Based on your user name and hilariously infantile whining, your name wouldn't be Ralph now, would it?

Are you trans? If not, you really don't get a say on it. You don't have any experience into how this can affect someone.

Also, the "Only power you give it" argument is a load of horseshit. You can use that argument to remove responsibility from everyone else. Suddenly any level of bigotry becomes acceptable, because it's the recipient's fault for letting it get to them.

Yeah, no?

I really don't think you understand what Infantile means. What I'm presented with here is a group of individuals who are kicking and screaming about affording basic respect to people who've probably suffered a lot more than they have. I'm speaking from a position of years of experience and education. You're speaking from a position of pure, sheer entitlement. You believe you have a right to tell people like me what our lives are.

Yeah, no?

Okay then. I'm trans. You don't get to say what I find offensive and don't. You don't get to speak for me.

EDIT - Two and a half pages between this and her ban and she never replied. I guess lumping all trans people into one convenient group so you can climb atop them to reach the soapbox is more productive than actually being into this whole "personal respect" and "every voice matters" thing that the SJWs are usually wailing about.

You are quite wrong, they love posts like this on the forums.

Actually, I'm cis, and given that people like me make up most of society, I'm gonna go ahead and say I do. Stop twying to silence my voice! ;)
Keep sperging, tranny.

We have a great deal of Trans members on this forum, ma'am. If you wish to ask whether any of them have gotten so angry they have barked like a dog (like in the case of Chloe), I have no doubt they would answer in the negative.

idk, there are plenty of people out there. you don't have to specifically target members of marginalised groups.

I'm even okay with CWC lolcow stuff, as I've followed it for years, as long as there are boundaries. i think it's okay to have a bit of fun with the stuff people like CWC say, but this thread is filled with outright transphobia and ableism, which is not cool.
