Phil then says he was always be "indie... independent". He will never have financial backing from one of these companies, he will never have sponsorship from these companies, you will never see him get a console early, you will never see him 'get a freebie'... it's very rare, if and when a company chooses to do anything with regards to a sponsorship or a partnership with Phil.
So... what about Hori? Spawn Seats? Mario and Sonic at the Olympics? "It's very rare?" So these things do happen? These things that you said will never happen and that you're completely against? And you accept them?

For a large chunk of his legacy Phil was contracted by, and protected by, Machinima, the largest MCN which was in its hey-day so big it even protected him from Nintendo taking a percentage of ad revenue.

I will say I support streamers needing licenses to stream games. I really don't see how these idiots believe they are artist for playing a game with a web cam on. It drives me up a wall when they claim how EULA don't apply to them, as they are much smart and their work with the game is very wow.

Streamers are cancer.

Licensing issues with games is an archaic law that hasn't been adjusted for actual consumer use today. One of my biggest gripes and forever will be till it gets changed.

Again let me bring up his royal rumble streams. He lets the AI fight itself while he comments over it. How is that different from commenting over a movie or a WWE match?

Yesterday DSP said he had enough money to afford the PS5 and the peripherals, a green screen, and a better camera. No reason he should want SBM's at all. Unless he was lying about being able to afford the PS5. But how likely is that?

I don't necessarily disagree and I wouldn't want the entire genre of LPs to be wiped out by greedy corporations but the real silliness comes out when he tries to thread the needle claiming his 'work' is transformative but detractors aren't.

I think gameplay is transformative,if you play a multiplayer game of course it is or a game that has any gameplay,my problem is when a streamer streams a telltalle game or other games where there is no gameplay involved and the game developer does have a point saying that the streamer is causing him to lose money since there is no difference between playing and watching someone else play since there no input other than walking or clicking an object.

Where is the gameplay in the wolf among us or graphic novels? Not everyone that watched the full gameplay was gonna buy the game but after watching someone else play it there is no point in buying it since there is no input and there is no need to ever buy it because watching someone else play is the same thing(you can even watch silent gameplays of games like this), I cannot imagine the amount of money developers of games like that lose because of youtubers and streamers.

I'm not familiar with blowing my money on fat internet manchildren. What is the intrinsic difference between tipping and cheering other than the latter is built in and shows up on Twitch? If they wanted more of a cut why not just ban the former and have everything go through cheers? If they wanted more of a cut why have restrictions on asking for cheers but not tips or is phil just talking out of his ass again? That part never made much sense to me but I've never followed up on whether Amazon was being inexplicably stupid or if phil was lying to try to hide the fact that he wants to minimize their cut.

More and more Twitch is just a pretty light machine idiots feed money into, with hype trains and subathons and shit. I literally gave up doing anything but finding lolcows when some people's streams became nothing but thanking some idiot for buying 100 gift subs and talking about their "growth".
Streamers get more money from direct tips but buying "bits" from Twitch leads to more monkeybrained pleasing animations onscreen. The former mixer service was horrible with this, they had this stupid beach ball thing that obscured the screen you could buy with "sparks".
Just do cocaine, kids. It's a better way to blow through money quickly.
