DEADNAMERS DESERVE THE DEATH PENALTY.WHAT PART OF I AM A WOMAN DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? YOU CANNOT MOCK ME WHEN WHAT I YOU ARE SAYING IS COMPLETELY TRIGGERING!

Favoring their self-designation doesn't necessarily entail omission of their previous identity, though, so yours seems like a loose interpretation of that policy. I can think of three notable transwomen who have their former names in their articles, and given that Chelsea Manning's birthname survived the edit wars that followed her coming out, Laverne Cox's case seems pretty unique.
Good point. Before the purge, someone mentioned that Brianna Wu's article doesn't have his previous name in it. My previous impression was that Cox's and Wu's names were omitted because they consider "deadnames" to be "dox."If there's a general rule that I can discern there, it's that if someone was of encyclopedic notability as defined by Wikipedia before their name change, it goes in. For instance, Wendy/Walter Carlos. Note there is also a redirect.
Next you're gonna say Autism isn't funny.
We don't hate transexuals or transgendered, but we're not going to treat them differently with regard just because of it.
That's because it is.You act as if saying things such as "When a trans woman gets called a man, that is an act of violence." is ridiculous.
Cox has been touring college campuses lately giving talks about being transgender, which is basically "look at me and my struggles. Praise me."
If she comes near your area and you go, you're in for a special treat. The amount of unpassable MtF people I saw in the audience was unfathomable.
That's because it is.
Also, "trans woman"
lmao
"she"She's reaching out to people who in many cases feel they have nowhere to turn to. Having role models is important.
if you want to remove that from trans women, you want to inflict misery on trans women. And given the fact that she's black and trans, you can bet she's had "struggles".
It must be nice being sheltered by similarly Edgy individuals so you never have to think critically about how shit everything you say is.
We sort of haven't had that luxury. Pampered child.
From the perspective of a sheltered narcissist who thinks their abusive mindset should be babbied, sure.
It's pretty neat, no lie.It must be nice being sheltered by similarly Edgy individuals so you never have to think critically about how shit everything you say is.

I'm ok with adults having role models, provided they're decent and emulate them in a proactive way. That said, a time comes to just be a decent human being. The entire concept of role models is fucking stupid, especially these plastic celebrity ones that support literal murderers to further their "role model" appearance. If you truly need someone on the TV pretending to be a better person than they actually are for your own personal inspiration, then good for you, you are just another exceptional individual. Role models are for children, not real people who are mature and expected to actually be self reliant.
It's pretty neat, no lie.
You live in a society where you have the free time to play gender-roulette, and you're bitching about how we are pampered children.
Nice dude.
But you are. Being trans isn't easy, anywhere. It opens you up to abuse and rejection and violence and a lack of employment and all sorts of things.
You're much less likely to experience those things, and moreover, you have a podium from which to hurl abuse that people that do.
You're damn right you're pampered relative to the average trans woman. If we get a bit too loud and assertive, we get ED pages and an army of stalkers. Whereas you can be an abusive, transphobic edgelord without consequence.
Is it any coincidence that people like you are the first to make fun of the idea of privilege being a thing?
