It's probably the FBI doing whatever they feel is the absolute minimum that they can to maintain appearances of actually giving a shit about the law. Now that this stuff is in the open, they have to at least do something that looks like they're investigating, even though they've been sitting on this info for about a year.

My guess. That laptop was never suppose to brought up aging. I think someone in middle managment "dropped the file behind a file cabinet" and expected it to never come up agian.

There will probably be an internal investigation were someone will be given paid leave to think about what they did or didn't do.

I think it's unlikely that anything will come out from the FBI before the election and depending on who wins we will either throw this in the conspiracy theory file or the it was politically expedient pile. Sadly like with any well connected individual I doubt anything would come of this unless there are other powerful people who want to hurt Biden.

If that's the case this could still get interesting.
