I haven't been able to watch her drive for a good couple months; it makes my anxiety skyrocket. If this was the case I’m sure Chantal would be irate in her community posts or we would see a live pop up about how YT is promoting bullying and punishing her, the victim of bullying. With this in mind it makes me assume she personally deleted it.

Psych Kiwis please correct me if I'm wrong, but is Oppositional Defiant Disorder even a thing for adults? I thought it was just used for kids who don't meet the threshold for Conduct Disorder (like illegal activity involving physical harm to others) and because kids can't be diagnosed with personality disorders since their personality is supposed to still be forming since their brains aren't fully developed.

I think the issue with Chantal is that she probably had dealt with people who abused their authority/powers or were needlessly mean/harsh so she would lash out at them one way or the other. Her problem has been and continues to be is that she can’t distinguish the ones who aren’t abusive from the ones who are.

She may have had ODD as a kid, but as an adult she's got NPD. Add her low intelligence and lack of social skills don't help

coming in a bit late to say that yes, ODD is a diagnosis given in childhood only. moreover, it usually reflects a failure in the family system, not an inherent flaw in the child. kids don’t come into the world “bad” but bad shit happens to them and there’s a wide range of resiliency to bad shit and an equally wide range of behavioral responses.

as an adult, as i’ve said before, chantal is her own fault. i wouldn’t be at all surprised to learn she had at one point been diagnosed with ODD, if someone cared enough to drag her to a psychiatrist in addition to fat camp. nowadays? she could well be in the diagnostic crab bucket that is the cluster Bs, but it doesn’t matter much since there’s little to do therapeutically with those individuals beyond management of co-morbid anxiety, depression, etc.

She would have travelled the fastest route between Ottawa & Toronto & it's a long & very tedious drive on that highway. Sure, this time of year the leaves are turning but there are far nicer drives for fall color. If she was doing a proper day trip for vlogging purposes, plenty of smaller, quieter side roads have loads of neat things to see as you pass by on the way to Toronto but they lack the siren song of big, shiny fast food signs. The route she takes has plenty of her favorite troughs & let's be real, that was her only consideration. Most tend to be grouped off an exit, with 3-4 various fast food joints right beside each other or within a block of each other.

I can understand a long drive to go to a really good, hard to get reservations for restaurant; especially if you're genuinely a foodie & are wanting to try something done by a specific chef but that isn't & never has been Chantal.
