A better example is Dole in 1996. It was almost a gold watch upon his retirement. But the initial premise is wrong. There is no shadowy group of masters controlling things. It's far more disorganized and far worse. Biden ended up consolidating Democrats because he is not Bernie. The Democrats were an inch from nominating a guy who isn't and never has been a Democrat. This all arises from the insane move to primaries, which in most states don't even require that a person voting in the patty's primary even be registered in that party. There's much to criticize about candidates being chosen in conventions, but those candidates were on average a fuckload better than the ones chosen by primaries.

Also, what's the point if at the end of the day the party heads just ignore the Primary and put in their guy/gal because "muh superdelegates" with the unsaid insinuation loud and clear: they think their own voterbase is too dumb to pick right or irrelevant as they can MAKE You love whatever WE pick by pandering and social-media bombing of dissent?

Say what you will, at least the Republicans clenched their teeth and went with who the primaries gave them instead of saying "Sorry, we always wanted Jeb" and it worked...

What I think is a silver lining, however, seems to be that the worst happened inbetween 2008-2018, using Obama's slick talking and the chaos of the first 2 Trump years to utilize Bush's implemented policies to overthrow governments around the world. Optimistic af, but I think we're out of the worst of it. Pessimism tells me we're due for a world war, as disease and famine rear their heads.

The Ukraine situation was what the impeachment was about, Biden being the nominee meant that was something they could do. That's, and I'm afraid to say it, an ignorant opinion. Biden is a neo-liberal. He's for endless wars. He's for exporting jobs. He's for sucking China's cock. And if ACB gets approved, he will take court packing 'under advisement'. Voting Trump means you're basically saying 'FUCK YOU' to the richest people on the planet by voting for him. Bezos is against him with WaPo losing its fucking mind. As far as I'm concerned, a vote for Biden is a vote for countless failed policies. Its a vote for the status quo.
