I want a special prosecutor to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.
I want the same special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton and her fucking emails.
I want them to have a mandate to investigate not only what Hunter did, but what other politicial families were involved. Kerry, Pelosi, and Schumer's kids were all mentioned already, back as the impeachment started.
Unfortunately unless there's an active electoral blowout Nov 3rd this won't be over until December at the earliest.
I want these things too, but 4 years have proven Trump isn't the guy to get it done.
He's good at the economic and diplomatic stuff, working on deals while the Democrats aren't paying attention. But he's completely failed to uproot the institutional rot in politics and government, mostly because it's beyond his capabilities right now, but also because he's trying to do normal Presidential things that need to get done too.
I hear a lot of cope like "you have to expose the swamp monsters before you drain the swamp", or "Trump is exposing the swamp and that's a win". It's true to an extent that Trump's presence is making them crawl out of the woodwork and show their faces. But they aren't being depowered, uprooted, investigated, shut down, or otherwise removed.
We're 4 years into alleged swamp-draining, and the intel agencies are still screwing Trump over, the criminals have cable news gigs, Big Tech is flexing more power than ever, and a corrupt senile 47 year politician is being carried to a close race for the Presidency through openly shady means. The closest thing we had to serious consequences was
Trump getting impeached for investigating Biden's corruption.
Anyone who was going to clean house needs a lot of political capital to get it done. Trump has
none. He has a grassroots movement and is slowly reforming the GOP into populism, but he doesn't have Congressional committees who'll cover for him, deep state connections to protect him, experienced reformers who will inform him, a political machine to enforce discipline, or the basic credibility to make accusations that stick.
(That doesn't mean he's naive, necessarily. Trump has frequently called out dirty or disloyal people and been proven right later on. But he lacks the organization or attention span to actively root them out, and he lacks the back bench of loyalists to replace them. He also lacks the personality to dig deep into bad organizations and do detailed reforms--he prefers "fire and forget", then making top-down executive orders.)
If Trump gets re-elected, I expect the bluster about Biden to instantly die down. The FBI will eventually unclench once they realize Joe Biden isn't getting power back, Hunter probably gets an official slap on the wrist, and everyone gets to quietly fade away with just some spicy rumors to float around them.
