Culture High schooler baffles social media with his ‘surprising’ kitchen discovery: ‘How did you not know this?’ - Yeah because TikTok is fucking stupid

TikTok is a near-infinite source of knowledge, but it’s also a place where plenty of knowledge gets repeated.

Case in point: A new, viral video showing how to “make” powdered sugar at home.

Powdered sugar, or confectioner’s sugar, is basically just regular sugar that’s been ground into a tiny, extremely fine state.

If you didn’t know that, don’t worry. You’re not alone. In fact, there are millions of TikTokers who are just learning the “truth” behind powdered sugar, thanks to a video from user boggle.boggle.

The high schooler has drawn nearly 10 million views with his clip, during which he discovers the sugary secret firsthand.

Boggle.boggle seems excited by the realization, which he seemingly made after viewing a video from another user, Anika Sonye. In Sonye’s clip, she shares her confusion over the fact that many people don’t know how to make powdered sugar.

“Wait so everyone doesn’t know you get powdered sugar from just blending sugar?” she asks.

Some users seemed to echo Sonye’s surprise. While many commenters on boggle.boggle’s video were blown away by the knowledge, others were simply stunned that people could be learning this for the first time.

“There’s no way y’all didn’t know this you’re joking right?” one user asked.

“How did y’all not know this THE NAME IS POWDERED SUGAR,” another wrote.

“How did you not know this?” another added.

Still, many commenters stood their ground. In fact, some were so shocked by the video’s simplicity that they suggested it was a prank.

“Is this fake it seems too good to be true,” one user asked.

“I can’t handle this,” another added.

It’s worth noting, by the way, that making powdered sugar isn’t always that simple. Some recipes also call for a bit of corn starch to help with the texture.

Can I interest you in a rape grape?

Remember, there are people for who the "Contains Peanuts" allergy warning has to exist on jars of peanut butter... or else they'd kill themselves in their ignorance that it's made from peanuts, not just created from a huge machine that just fills the jars whenever you plug it in, without any inputs besides maybe electricity and water.....

We live in a time where computers fit in the palms of our hands and the world is on fire, plagued and on the verge of civil disaster... and this herd of jackasses is getting mindblown about powdered sugar. Fucking schools should've never phased out home economics class.
Mine got demoted to optional elective that was only filled by those who wanted it, and the rejects from everyone else

As much as I want to hate on tiktok kids, the real fault lies with parents who relied on home-ec to teach their kids how to cook and home-ec for being so shitty and not actually teaching how to cook.

Didn't home ec get sent the way of the dodo years ago? Even when I was in high school in the 2000's the closest thing was "food science", and they dropped all the useful lessons on proper cooking for talking about enzyme breakdowns and shit because the home ec teachers had an inferiority complex.

Why would a home ec class teach you to buy granulated sugar and put it in a blender to make powdered sugar? It's far more efficient just to buy it already powdered, since the two products are more or less both the same price of "diddly squat," and what in God's name do you need with an entire blender full of powdered sugar, anyway? Not to mention the chance of getting it wet and ruining it all if you're not using it immediately.
