All I have to say is that Governor Tom Wolf is a dumbass.

You have access to a president that will come and save the day if you call him right there, and you let the your deep blue puddle of Philadelphia get thrown into chaos and just let it happen? This close to an election where anything significant might shift favor in your state?

Watch this shit happen in Detriot next. Hell, maybe they'll release Chauvin and we can finally remove Minneapolis from the map.

The judge already dropped the third degree murder charge which leaves them with manslaughter and an almost certainly unprovable second degree murder. I wouldn't be surprised if they get him for nothing but some kind of assault, like aggravated assault, or if he entirely beats the rap.

You underestimate how blue Philly is. And the ambitions of Mayor Jim Kenney and probably Tom Wolf as well.

Yes. Video of the nog dying:
They should've shot her too, then hunt down the witnesses, and destroy all proof save their own. The joggers brought it onto themselves.
EDIT: See, the joggers always just wait for an excuse to "protest". Information suppression is thus the best way to prevent anything from leaking. Who cares if a few joggers die? They cover for their own anyway,.

If they had ambition they may as well admit that its over. Kenney was hated before the riots and Wolf was distant and a very quiet governor so nobody knew he existed. Everyone knows their names now and the laundry list of antics they got up to. Kenney is dead in the water because of the riots, homelessness and massive crime wave. Wolf is the person who bankrupted half the people in the state with draconian lock downs. They're done. The person to note is Krasner, I'll be interested if that scumbag survives election season.

Again, Philly is pretty liberal, so if you wanna do some bleeding heart things (like taking down a Christopher Columbus statue of IIRC setting up some places for druggies to safely shoot up without consulting residents) or enact some pet project, Philly seems like a good place to do it. The only thing I can say Kenney has is that he doesn’t seem like a de Blasio, Wheeler, Andrew Cuomo, or Durkan who seems to do things just to spite Trump and make himself look good to the blue check mark crowd.

Honestly, I doubt it. Back in July they tried to start shit twice.
Chief Craig wasn't having it. He made the "protesters" look like a bunch of fools both times ("If you didn't want to get hit by a police car you shouldn't have swarmed it nor should you have attacked it" and "The reports of the guy being unarmed and being shot 17 times in the back are false, here is the bodycam footage"). Even liberal hell holes like Reddit couldn't get them selves to support the "protests".
I think it helped that when Detroit first started to have the BLM protests Craig said "There is a curfew, but if you guys don't riot I won't enforce it, but if this becomes unlawful I will shut it down" and the protests didn't have any major incidents outside of the two mentioned above.

but wHy didn't they tAser him??

Why they didn't taser him: https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2020-4177/

One of the videos from that incident was posted earlier in the thread. Short version- dude with a butcher's knife gets tasered, stands up, charges and stabs the cop that tasered him before she can react. Eventually her backup plugs the stabby dude a few dozen times and he finally stops.

But no, we should all be able to charge the police with knives and depend on being gently restrained.

What all these cities need is a Frank Rizzo to stomp the malcontents the moment they appear. Back in the early May-June period I noted the issue of normalizing violence against the police and criminal activity and that it would become a larger issue than most people expected. At the time I was watching the livestreams like most people, I was watching one of the news channels out in LA and the helicopter followed a car chase that ended in Compton with a few blacks running in each direction. The LAPD could only dedicate a single officer to the chase and all suspects got away because lol Compton. The chopper then immediately moves across the city to another car chase. It did this four times in a row. I noted that the criminal element were being introduced to the notion that the police had a larger reputation than they really should have had, they criminals were looting stores, getting caught, and then cut loose by cops because they just had no manpower to do their job, every paddy wagon was in use elsewhere, the cop would immediately be forced to rush off to a new scene and the store owner would just be left with the ruins.
There was something taught in May-June and it has fucked the country up since; if there is a critical mass of rioters the city will descend into anarchy as police will be overstreched and be unable to respond. There has been multiple waves of riots across the country since then and a large amount of looters have managed to break into buildings and get away with goods. These people will go home and tell their friends to be ready for the next riot so they can get a pair of Air Jordans as well, networks get formed and flash mobs organized for the next "justification" for rioting. We saw in Lancaster, PA that there was black people roaming around asking when the looting was going to start. The inept policies of these Mayors and Governors have created a situation where they have taught the looters that there wont be punishment so this shitshow will continue indefinitely. This runs concurrent to the dramatic rise in violence across all inner cities, blacks are willing to try their luck with guns and robbery because they noted the lack of response. Crime has become normalized once again, it will require hardass Mayors like Rizzo or Giuliani to break up these elements over a long period of time.

I've been awake for a long time so I can't really communicate my thoughts well, but I think its understandable enough.

Were these Obama phones these people were filming with? What shitty footage.

Is Biden going to come out and say, "They should have shot him in the leg?"

Philly is already a dystopian nightmare and always has been. I remember being told to stay out of North Philly but apparently this incident took place in West Philly which is just as shitty and sometimes even worse than the northern part.

How can we resurrect Frank Rizzo from the dead?

The human parasite is there.

Having spent some time in Philly and having family in the area (won't say more because potential power leveling) I think I can talk about all this shit:
1. If this stabbing happened in North Philly, can't stay I'm surprised. I constantly got told to stay out of North Philly.

2. Cheesesteaks to Philadelphians is like any regional specialty: every person will have their different place that's their favorite. Also, consensus is that the two biggest places, Pat's and Geno's, are mostly for the tourists (and probably the people who live down that way but whatever).
Also, I present this scene:

3. I never had a cheesesteak from Wawa because the hoagies are where it's at. Anyone from the area will probably tell you something about this place that they live on, and it's open 24/7. Also they're now in 6 states and DC.

4. Philly's thing is it's a mix of east coast metropolis and small town "don't take shit from anyone" mentality. Also, there's the whole "cradle of independence thing" that makes sure Philly is forever recognized. Take away the 1776 and you basically have Pittsburgh. And then there's Eagles fans to further cement the tough guy reputation.

Any town with a specialty food inevitably ruins it in a few decades because they can run on it being the original rather than good.

Lady, Justice already took care of Walter. Weren't you paying attention?

Also, why would ANY cop taser him? If you are approaching an officer with a knife even after being told repeatedly to put it down, I would come to the natural conclusion you're aiming to kill them, so yeah, THEY'RE GONNA SHOOT.

The worst part about this is if that guy killed the cop, they would be celebrating.
