Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Another thing: What's with the pseudo-martyr thinking of "masks don't help you, they're to protect others"? If the mask doesn't protect me, how would it protect others? The aerosols get slowed down a tiny bit, which might be slightly better in places like supermarkets where you just quickly pass someone, but in any real contact situation they don't do shit for anyone. As I said earlier, don't look at the Asians for reasoning in favour of masks. They wear them because they have snot running down their faces.

It relates to people's pathological altruism. The thing about goodness is that it has to be voluntary and from the heart. YOU should get nothing in return besides the reassurance you did what everyone should do but wont because of their own imperfections. Current year has twisted that notion (a big factor being social media). Nowadays if you are not spewing the usual altrustic but ultimately meaningless crap said by the masses, you, yourself, is not good. It relates a lot to ego. People need to reassure themselves and others now that they are good people. Thats why voting for Trump is considered "evil" and Biden "good", the former advocates for politicies that are ultimately good in the long term but it requires you to stop seeing things from a superficial level (like automatically assuming illegal aliens simply want a better life and are all doctors and medics that just need a chance) while Biden allows them to ingest more of the fantasy their echo chamber have brewed. That "benevolence" is only superficial.
Its what the joker says

They follow a sheltered twisted but ultimately false sense of "goodness" that mostly serves to feed their own egos. They dont see their enemies as people but as cartoon villains who could never have a point in their arguments. They are always wrong and YOU are always right, no.matter.WHAT.

So the masks are perfec for that surface level pathological altruism because you can always claim you are trying to save granny while being as shitty as possible to anyone who might have an issue with them. You become a slave to your own ego and that ego serves those who brewed it for all these years with social media and the rejection of God

That article mentionned then most people hit by Corona-chan lacked some vitamin D. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/more-...ents-had-vitamin-d-deficiency-study-1.5162396
If there's some good that can come of this, I hope it's making people think of the importance of vitamin D on their health. Vitamin D deficiencies are everywhere among both white and especially black people (part of the much-hyped "racial disparities" in deaths). Me and my family started taking vitamin D to help ensure that if we caught it, we'd get a less-severe case. But since I started taking it I noticed that I felt healthier physically and especially mentally.

Because the mask-wearer is a cultist. They don't care that the risk of contracting the disease from a supermarket is almost nil (according to the CDC, there are very, very few cases ever traced from a supermarket, even before the mask mandates started). A mask is a sign that you are one of them, that you accept SCIENCE and aren't killing grandma. You must wear a mask because you must be as altruistic as they are and must avoid LITERAL MURDER by not wearing a mask.

This is why a mask which comes in a cheap-ass box and has a giant disclaimer "DOES NOT PROTECT AGAINST DISEASE" becomes a talisman that you must wear. We've regressed to medieval-tier superstition and paranoia and we aren't dealing with a pandemic so much as a mass hysteria which has spread globally thanks to the increasingly connected world.

I don't get this - imagine if the PIRA had this situation, Thatcher wouldn't have lasted five minutes.

I've seen a few of you guys irl too, you're some of the most grotesquely hideous people I've ever seen. Not even joking, please, wear the mask, it covers up the meth teeth. Wear long sleeves for the needle scars too.

Nah, I just value my personal freedom and right to choose based on my personal assessment of the risks and expect others to value the same, i.e. not just listening to what "experts" proclaim.

According to a time magazine article I read 40% of americans are at risk from covid-19. Sounds like bullshit but I figured I would share it with you guys so here is the link: The White House Wants to Achieve Herd Immunity By Letting the Virus Rip. That is Dangerous and Inhumane (https://archive.md/Ig1ND)

If you click the link to the 40% claim you find this graph-

If you're counting fat people as being at risk, and a lot of them are honestly, that's going to drive the numbers way up in a lot of western countries but especially places like the US and UK.

It's completely exaggerated as always. Obesity rates are huge for people under 50 yet deaths in that age range are almost nil. Even fat people (minus the elderly fat) have an almost certain chance of survival, they just have slightly less than a fit person in their age range and that's why the scare stories like "21 YEAR OLD STUDENT DIES OF COVID-19" almost always have the victim weighing upwards of 500 lbs. You'd think people would be a little more sensible after a fat 70-something McDonalds addict survived the disease.

As usual, here's a"bulletin" saying the county I live in is destined to stay perma-fucked by Newsom. I keep telling people to sign a recall petition. ONLY way this will stop.

STATE SAYS COUNTY'S CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC HAS WORSENED

• Latest report card puts us further from reopening

This morning the California Department of Public Health assigned Monterey County a coronavirus score of 8.5, which means we have moved in the wrong direction when its comes to meeting the 7.0 threshold required to get out of the Purple Tier and into the Red Tier in the state's economic shutdown scheme. Last week, our score was 8.3.

This week's score is based on Monterey County's coronavirus cases for the week ending Oct. 17, when the county's 7-day average infection rate per 100,000 residents, as reported by the Monterey County health department, had increased to 12.2. Since then, the number of new cases has been decreasing. However, given the mysterious nature of the state's scoring system, it's hard to know what anything portends for the eventual reopening of our economy.

For details about Monterey County's latest data, as reported by the California Department of Public Health, click here.

To see the most up-to-date charts and tables from the health department, click here. Below, you can also find the updated versions of our charts showing coronavirus infections countywide and in the Monterey Peninsula, along with the data for hospitalizations and our chart breaking down Monterey County's coronavirus cases and infection rates by zip code. Another week, another incoming hurricane by the name of Zeta. This makes me think of the people evacuating. With how states pushing the "stay at your bunker for two weeks with no contact", I wonder if the evacuatees can bypass with 'I'm only getting away from a natural distaster for a day, I'll come back home the next day" or forced to stay on whatever they move to for two weeks? I can't be evacuating since the family are bullheaded and want to ride it out. The shelter still remains closed if it shits out tornadoes alongside it. Reasoning remains the same: "preventing the spread of covid".
Even if I want to evacuate somewhere to Florida, I just don't want to come back to the offchance of seeing the house destroyed and/or family dead/missing. It's a scary thought.
A lot of factors make this suck so bad right now.

The good news is that Zeta is only forecast to be a category 1 at most. As a coastal native, I never really get concerned until category 3 at a minimum. There'll be some minor damage as with any hurricane, but nowhere near as bad as Laura was. It's certainly not needed on top of all the other tropical storms this season, but it's also not too much of a concern.

The other good news is that Southern states in general aren't doing the ridiculous lockdown/quarantine requirements that blue state hellholes like New York are mandating. Florida doesn't give a shit anymore at all, and other states are similarly relaxing restrictions for the most part. If you feel like you need to evacuate, you'll be fine to do so and not have to worry about getting stuck somewhere for a couple weeks, as long as you're not doing something crazy like evacuating to New York.

Update: 5th case of Rona at work. I guess they're going to make you get tested if you were around someone in a department who gets it. At least it's a big place where I work at. playing Russian Roulette at a job is fun.
I get daily notifications form my companies emergency notification system about COVID cases found in this or that department. Every day a new case in some department or other. What a mess.

Please, you're scaring the children. Your right to be a hideous freak does not mean it has to infringe on my own sense of decency.

Also, that's a fucking IRA song. Not even from the same country, or the same time period.

Dear AmeriKiwis: I get Trump is a dick. But voting for Biden and getting him elected will be actively endorsing the WEF's "Great Reset". Please don't. Rest of the Western world looks to you lot for guidance, If the greatest democracy in the world endorses that shit and that man, we are empirically, completely and utterly fucked.

Tropical Storm Watch was issued up north on my state, even if I wasn't in the area, I can't help but get spooked because we still have two days left until impact and that's very rare from what I know of. My biggest worry is on the tornadoes they shit out, because I just have a really rampant fear of them in general -not helped that I'm right smack dab on the middle of Tornado Alley either and got a few brushes with them. Hurricane Sally/Laura recently (the days blended together) took down a few trees that also crashed into my car, so I'm still just a bit shaken up.
I mainly want to evacuate to Florida just to stop stressing, and the second half is the house is still surrounded by trees to easily smash into the house if they fall. Maybe it will be a nothingburger to my area, but I just want to stop stressing and get it done with.
Even reasonable stuff like "We could go see our cousin we haven't seen in a while" isn't enough to budge the family. "I have a job", they would say while they work at home with a laptop...which they can bring to our cousin house's at Florida anyway without a risk of a power outrage and missing said job on where we're at.

EDIT: Annnd I'm under the watch. Which is renamed to now 'Hurricane Watch'.

I fear that battle was lost 30 years ago. Best Trump can do is delay for another 4 years.

Bad times ahead friend.
Maybe no computer.
Maybe no home.

But I will return.
