'Trump is finally gone, but he left a fundamentally transformed ultranationalist Republican party that is now openly hostile to anyone not a straight white man'. Yes, even if the next candidate is a turbocucked Lincoln Project uniparty creature.Obama was way more orange than Trump today, by the way. Trump is finished.
Which reminds me: when Trump is no longer President in a couple months or about four more years, where the fuck is the left going to move their goalposts? What the fuck else is there?
There's something about how allowing and even wanting/asking governments to arbitrarily expand their powers any which way in response to "emergencies" and "crises", no matter how "severe" or "serious" those "emergencies" might seem, will always end up biting you in the ass, as big governments with entrenched "deep states" never voluntarily give up power....Also the people who live there. I don't, but Trudeau banning a load of guns by order in council without consulting parliament was a very scummy move earlier this year.
Watch, man. In ten years we'll still be required to wear masks. There's something about how allowing and even wanting/asking governments to arbitrarily expand their powers any which way in response to "emergencies" and "crises", no matter how "severe" or "serious" those "emergencies" might seem, will always end up biting you in the ass as government never voluntarily gives up power....
Ten years? Hell, didn't Biden or Fauci the Great say we need a mask mandate through 2022?Watch, man. In ten years we'll still be required to wear masks.
It was Biden that said that, yes. Don't know about Leaky Faucet*, but I would not be surprised to hear that he said the same thing as well.Ten years? Hell, didn't Biden or Fauci the Great say we need a mask mandate through 2022?
"Yeah, but back then the country was whiter and therefore more civically minded. Modern-day 56% America won't give a shit with the exception of Republican partisans. The jig has been up for decades and nobody really believes in the Republic anymore, it's just a race to see who gets to hijack its institutions for their own benefit."-White nationalist doomers, probably.Slight correction: FDR was not successful in packing the court, but he was making plans to do so since they were striking down parts of the New Deal as being overreaching. This was met with overwhelmingly negative response from not just Republicans but also Democrats as well, and FDR was painted as an attempted tyrant who was going to irrevocably alter the structure of the court just to get his way. This led to the Republicans gaining tremendously in Congress after being reduced to less than a quarter representation at the height of FDR's presidency. They almost doubled the number of seats they held in the House in the 1938 elections, from 88 to 169, and by the 1942 election they gained another 40 seats, reducing the Dems to a slim majority. While the Dems would continue to hold at least a slim majority in both chambers for much of the following 50 years, FDR's court packing plan put an end to their overwhelming dominance in the early part of FDR's presidency.
Truthfully, court packing should be electoral suicide for anyone that entertains the notion. It's easy to see why nobody should attempt it: simply put, there's nothing to stop the opposing party from adding even more justices when they come into power, then the original party from doing the same, and so on. But the Dems' base has become so rabid and short-sighted that they're demanding it, and Joe is too senile or dumb to quash the notion outright. Hell, not only did he not stamp out any rumors of court packing, as you pointed out, he's flat-out stated that the public doesn't deserve to know his stance! How the fuck does anyone think this is a good thing to say?
I'm gonna be immeasurably disappointed if Joe fucking Biden successfullycheatswins this election. If there are seriously that many people who are okay with just tearing up the Constitution and doing whatever the fuck feels good in the moment, then our country deserves what it gets.

I'd also lay the blame on hacks like Jon Stewart. He taught an entire generation that humor just involves pointing at the right, shaking your head, and mugging the camera while a studio audience laughs. Of course, that only worked for him because he had a multi-million dollar TV show crew to edit clips and make him look good. A benefit the average knob on twitter wishes they had. That's more on Obama for enabling the sjws. They're the ones who killed comedy. It would be in the same place today if Hillary won. Just way more smug.
It's also a direct result of the co-opting of American culture. It's hard to make real cultural references when every cultural icon in your history is delegitimized due to racisexislahomophobia. "Luckily" all these nice corporate entities are here to fill the cultural vacancy with capeshit. Hence "CoMiCs ArE jUsT mOdErN mYtHoLoGy!"Inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality is a sign of autism.
They'll do what they always do: memory hole the shit out of their actions and reset the goalposts. The dem's modern TDS phenomenon will be seen by future gens the same way them starting the KKK or trying to block the civil rights act is seen today: a vague historical fact people acknowledge as true, but something that doesnt really play role in the decision making process. Afterall, that was THEN, this is CURRENT YEAR.Which reminds me: when Trump is no longer President in a couple months or about four more years, where the fuck is the left going to move their goalposts? I think people are deep down (although they will never admit it) upset that Trump DIDN'T lock everyone down to show that Trump was a massive dictator. When he didn't, they took the opposite position and called him negligent instead. There's something about how allowing and even wanting/asking governments to arbitrarily expand their powers any which way in response to "emergencies" and "crises", no matter how "severe" or "serious" those "emergencies" might seem, will always end up biting you in the ass, as big governments with entrenched "deep states" never voluntarily give up power....
...No, I'm just thinking right-wing conspiratard nonsense. Anyway, how's Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer doing? She sure sounds like a caring one, defying her own state's supreme court to save us all from Covid-19. But the Michigan supreme court was run by the GOP anyway, so who cares about them amirite? Gotta get through this Dark Winter somehow, after all.
What about anime and manga? I see those Japanese comics and cartoons (and the art styles associated with them) becoming a lot more prominent in American culture as of late. They are certainly more prominent in contemporary American "youth culture" nowadays. It's also a direct result of the co-opting of American culture. The meltdowns makes it funny. He's unravelingIts interesting to see more and more people turned off by this guy.
Anime and manga are weird, more people like them because they are not typical American stuff but at the same time there are people trying to co-opt anime by making it more inclusive and pandering to their beliefs, but it doesn't work compared to other forms of media because Japan doesn't give a shit about hyper-neoliberal values which pisses off the woke crowdWhat about anime and manga? I there's probably some big philosophical argument to be made about the degradation of one culture and the commodification of another, but that looks like a huge essay in itself and I don't really care to make it right now. Someone else could, if they wanted to, however.
Has there be anything new on that? Last time I checked, they were getting mad over a short girl having huge boobs.Anime and manga are weird, more people like them because they are not typical American stuff but at the same time there are people trying to co-opt anime by making it more inclusive and pandering to their beliefs, but it doesn't work compared to other forms of media because Japan doesn't give a shit about hyper-neoliberal values which pisses off the woke crowd
The most recent thing I remember is "The Guardian" making a video about how anime is racist towards blacksHas there be anything new on that? Last time I checked, they were getting mad over a short girl having huge boobs.
In the same way Dungeons and Dragons was with adding Orcs to their game? The most recent thing I remember is "The Guardian" making a video about how anime is racist towards blacks

The amount of people who say "get out and vote" like it will fix something is just as confusing as people acting like 2020's horrible events will somehow go away on January 1st, 2021.My favorite are the comments
"MUH DEMOCRACY"My favorite are the comments
This country stopped being a democracy when Bush was elected."MUH DEMOCRACY"
I hate when people try to act dramatic about how voting in the election is going to "SAVE DA DEMOCRACY"
When America's system is a constitutional-republic.
