I'd be down. One of my classes this semester is about the portrayal of history in film. We've been watching a lot of black and white (and foreign language) films so far and I really appreciate them. They don't make them quite the same anymore.

Probably helps that the author writes professionally.

You don't have to resort to fan fiction to avoid leftist drivel in your reading material. There are tens of thousands of fantastic novels written from 1780 to 1980 and many of them are available for free as ebooks.

To add a little to the un-woke media sperging. I reccomend reading some of William Hope Hodgsons novels, specifically The Night Land and House On The Borderland. If you like Lovecraft or similar stuff you'll probably love Hodgson. Also Chuck Palahniuk's stuff other than Fight Club.

To help de-stress from reality I've been watching clips from Laurel and Hardy movies, and yt videos/tv shows made before 2019. An episode or two of WKRP In Cincinnati can be wonderfully cathartic.
