Tbf vns on consoles are not a new idea. Can’t speak for Xbox but there are more than plenty of vns ported onto Sony’s consoles (and Nintendo too! The DS was the main receiver of said vns). There have been countless japan only vns released as far back as Sony’s ps1 and ps2 days.We just haven’t seen much of them in the west since Console VNs were seen as more of a niche thing—special exceptions being Danganronpa and maybe Suda51’s pre-Killer 7 games (if we’re being generous). Even then console VNs tend to only be released in one region (*cough* Japan *cough*) and don’t typically see localizations.
