Okay, this is almost entirely meaningless noise.Sure. Here are a few examples, but I'm sure I could find many others:
https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-jared-kushner-first-step-act-criminal-justice-reform-1467867
https://www.axios.com/trump-kushner-second-thoughts-408d5a33-725d-442a-88e4-d6ab6742c139.html
Now do I necessarily believe this story? Not really, but it shows that he either played a big role in justice reform or Trump wants it to appear that he played a pivotal role in the First Step Act.

Another questionable source I know, but I mean these things do add up.

Basically, people are right not to trust him on face value, and his presence as an unelected family member power player should naturally raise suspicions
Trump said Kushner could be a liberal. Am I supposed to be outraged about that? I don't care about that comment. Not even a little bit. And why should I care what his father did? Kushner donated to Democrats? Trump himself gave money to Kamala and Hillary. Am I supposed to be upset that criminal justice reform was passed? Well, I'm not. It does no one any good to have people in prison, who taxpayers have to support, when they don't need to be. And then when they get out, they have a hard time finding a job with their criminal records and supporting themselves, which just leads to higher rates of recidivism. The best solution is to not even start that chain of events. So if I'm supposed to be outraged, I'm not.
You said "do I necessarily believe this story? Not really." and "another questionable source" but that adds up to you? You are just the kind of mark the mainstream media loves. If they throw enough bullshit at the wall eventually you'll start to believe there must be something there.
How at this point can you still believe these stories based on anonymous sources? Just this week we got a taste of how these high level sources are really low level beaurocrats. How do these stories still have credibility to you?
And citing John Bolton is even worse. Just this week he said Trump wouldn't leave if he lost. The man clearly has a bone to pick yet you still believe even one word out of his mouth? Why? You even quoted that Kushner and Ivanka would get Trump to nominate a liberal. Is Amy Coney Barrett a liberal? Is Gorsuch? Is Kavanaugh?
I specifically asked you for a policy that has been implemented and you responded with an immigration plan that wasn't passed. So again I ask you, give me a policy or policies that have actually been implemented.
I don't have a problem with Trump hiring family to work in the administration. I mean, that's literally the role of a First Lady, which every administration has. And I don't have a problem with him surrounding himself with people he trusts. The problem is not that there's too many people outside the Washington swamp, it's that that there's not enough. Most people in government don't have political science degrees, and that's probably a good thing. Have you seen the idiots who work their whole careers in government? Kushner has done a far better job on foreign policy than John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, who spent their whole lives in government. And Ben Rhodes, who was a failed novelist before Obama picked him off the trash heap to do the Iran deal.
So yeah, you gave me nothing. In fact, you gave me less than nothing.
