I have a relative that works at a grocery store in a managerial position.

We are not in full flu season yet, just flu shot season.

Yet somehow, he tells me, the store keeps selling out of flu/cold medicines and vitamins.

What does this tell you? People are probably getting kissed by the 'rona but trying to beat it under the table instead of reporting it (and getting tested) and getting things shut down. Granted, the weather has been shifting which causes allergies and there probably are people with actual colds right now, but my noggin' is joggin'.

Alternatively, they know most hospitals will just turn you away if you have a mild case (which most people have); and/or are just prepping for the coming colder months.

But seriously though. If the hospital will just turn you away for a mild case, what benefit do you have reporting it/getting tested?

People are stocking up in preparation of another lockdown where you aren't supposed to be out shopping, and even if you are shopping the stores aren't going to have what you went for.

I would love to get the answer to this one. I had the Coof but didn't go to the hospital. There is no cure, just symptom management until either you die or it goes away. I did not need oxygen or a ventilator, so I saw no reason to bother a hospital with my sorry self. Of course without a negative test, I have no proof that I am now over it, so... um. Yeah. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

That reminds me, I'm low on paper. Better stock up before everyone decides to panic buy.

Also canned chicken.

And remember, a good prepper always has a surplus of dried herbs and spices. Life is not worth living if you can't season your canned chicken.

Canned chicken. Canned dinners. Canned beers.

Not sure about that door, actually...

Miller says that while many of Fortitude Ranch's members are concerned about the what may happen in the coming days and weeks, there has been increased interest in the camp since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.

The CEO, who is a former Air Force officer and a Harvard graduate, says his premises are fitted out should there be another pandemic in the future.

'That will be a pandemic nothing like COVID-19. It will shut everything down. It will kill hundreds of millions of people worldwide,' he proclaimed.

Mmm... Okay.

Seems like the DM run this story a few times a year. Found these other ones -

We told you so! Coronavirus is child's play for doomsday 'preppers' on West Virginia ranch complete with concrete bunkers, gun store, solar panels and a ditch where contaminated bodies can be incinerated

Coronavirus is a 'wake-up call': Doomsday prepper shows off his pandemic-proof compound stocked with guns, surrounded by guard towers and full of food that has seen a surge in membership since the start of the outbreak

  • Fortitude Ranch is an affordable doomsday survival camp for preppers to hunker down in the event of a major catastrophe that would result in the breakdown of society and loss of law and order

Oh, talking about canned dinner. This is my fave one -

If you see me walkin' down the line
With my fav'right honky tonk in mind,
Well, I'll be here around suppertime
With my can of dinner and a bunch of fine.
Beer drinkers and hell raisers, yeah.
Uh-huh-huh, baby, don't you want to come with me?

See you there boys. It will be glorious! We shall plot the new Fatherland! Then they'll be sorry they ever thought about fucking with us!

My local subreddit and social media groups have been calling for the "head doctor" to make masks mandatory, as people wear them as little as possible and will take them off as soon as they get away from the front door of businesses.

Shockingly, the second most commonly discussed topic is people seeking therapy.

Mine last night was sperging out about how restaurants are apparently a vector for infection here, and how we need the usual Orwellian controls and how we need to enforce mask mandates even sitting down while eating.

There's a lot of pushback Thank God, but check this stinker out:

There are so many judgmental comments here. It’s been 7-8 months, the federal government isn’t going to do anything to help the owners or staff — so what are we going to do? Just let all of these people lose everything and end up on the street? (So ya’ll can bitch about them when you complain about the “homeless problem.”)

Remember, most people don’t tip on pick up orders and tips on delivery apps go to the driver. What about the wait staff? What about back-of-house staff at places that split tips between the front and back of house?

And abstinence doesn’t work — whether it’s sex, drugs, or alcohol. This is our new normal, we need to learn “safe socializing.” If you go out, wear your mask until the food comes. Put it on before speaking to staff, or if you’re just chatting. Don’t patronize restaurants if their staff doesn’t have proper PPE. We know masks seriously reduce exposure to both parties, we know being outside helps, we know less people is a plus — it’s not 100%, but neither are condoms.

I live in fucking Los Angeles. Who the hell says y'all on the west coast?

New Jersey is about to get fucked:

“We’re not there yet, but all options are on the table,” he said. “If we have to shut the whole place down we will. We were one of the first, if not the first state to do that in March. I just hope we can avoid it again this time.”

Another lockdown could be the final blow to hundreds of small businesses in the state, including restaurants, which recently reopened their indoor dining at 25% capacity.

“This is real. People are dying,” said Murphy. “People are going to the hospital and we need everybody to ban together and push back on that pandemic fatigue and push the numbers back down.”

Because Gov. Phil Murphy continues to get paid regardless of his actions.

Surprisingly 16,000 deaths in New Jersey is quite substantial:

I think these 16,000 people would have died for other health related issues. And the mortality rate for many of the above will drop this year. IDK, I'm a bit shocked that COVID19 will actually be a leading cause of death in NJ this year. Like 25% of people that die in NJ will be from COVID19. WTF?

For a while I've been saying that the craziness could end by next spring with the tax revenue issue, but I'm afraid even by then it'll be far too late. Hell it's arguably too late already just from what I've seen in regards to how brainwashed the average person is anymore.

There's only one way it will end, and that's after the elites have completely reshaped the very fabric of society to their exact twisted dystopian liking...

Up here in Canuckistan, we finally crossed the 10 000 death mark, and I got a little curious about the age breakdown of those 10 000. As of three hours ago, just under 90% of those deaths were over the age of 70, with 71% of all Leaf Covid deaths being 80+ years old. You want to know how many people in my age range (20-29) have died of the coof? 10. That's it, just 10, and yet, I have relatives younger than me still afraid to go places outside of their own homes. For the under 19 age range (0-19), we've hit a grand total (so far) of 2 deaths. Sure, it's a tragedy for those families, but the larger tragedy, to me, is destroying the educations of the 99.99% of kids that won't die of Covid. Their educations are in shambles, they're missing out on milestones like prom, and graduation, and just spending time with their friends being kids, because what if one of them is Covid Child Death #3? But, hold on, we need to protect all those 80+ year olds! It feels mean to say it, but humans generally only live to be about 80, regardless of Covid. The reality is that old people die from any number of causes, be it cancer, heart failure, a stroke, alzheimer's, just old age, a fall in the bathtub, the regular flu, Hell, even the common cold if you're in bad enough shape. Why is Covid some off-limits way to die? The reality is that pretty much anything can kill you once you hit that age. Is it worth crippling the economy, sending thousands, if not millions, of people spiralling into depression and debt, and wrecking our kid's educations to save some people who are already knocking on death's door? There's really no easy answer, but fuck this bullshit, I'm sick of it
