If humans are primates and monkeys are primates, how come humans wear clothes and monkeys throw poop at people? The answer is just that Goofy is a humanoid evolution of a dog, but there's still regular dogs running around. They probably just share a common ancestor. Or, if we get even simpler with this, it's just a cartoon, you should really just relax.

I assure you, Disney knows about this and has played around with it a lot. The newest Duck Tales series is but one example of many modern nudges to just how odd it is.

I liked it when she was ripping off Schmorky. That's when Jess was at her creative peak, both in terms of art and writing. And unlike with Schmorky, Jess never got weird or creepy. She was at her most tolerant during that phase, too.

The claim that he actually supports shoplifting really undermines the entire approach his defenders used, being the comic was actually to "show a feeling of emptiness after shoplifting" rather than be explicit approval for it. It's a shame he didn't come out with that when people were using that as a defense.
