New York Post got their hands on a hard drive from Hunter Biden's laptop and shows Joe Biden lied about Hunter's dealings with Ukraine

Couple stories on the New York Post

FBI has had the laptop for over a year already and didn't say anything. Remember when Trump got impeached for congratulating the new President of the Ukraine?

What the hell is the FBI doing?

Supposedly there is also a video of him engaged in a "sex act" and a couple of photo's of him. This is one is particular juicy

Well, respectfully there's a slight problem with that. It's the same reason Hillary Clinton had all her emails on a server. It's the same reason Liberal Democrat counsellors in the UK are all using Yahoo and Gmail addresses rather than their official council emails - high or low, they all want to keep things off the official record.

Yes, if they had a qualified person running all this, the drives would be encrypted with something like BitLocker (if Windows, not sure Mac equivalent). It would be secured not with a dumb password like "Hunter02" or whatever it was but with something secure and preferably 2FA, maybe something like YubiKey required to unlock and decrypt it. But you know what? There'd also be rigorous centralised backups, meticulous records of emails sent and to whom and on what date. There would be no chance of disputing ownership or claiming data was planted because said IT person / team would know exactly what they were doing and it would all be by the book.

I mean, you're not wrong, a properly set up IT person could configure everything so a lot of the data got completely and utterly destroyed without possibility of recovery. But a government provider of said equipment probably wouldn't do that. Maybe if they got them from the CIA or something.
If a laptop is lost or otherwise unrecoverable, government IT would wipe it immediately upon notification. Many corporations have specialized phone lines to report stolen devices for this reason. You are right about the centralized backups though. But, I can’t help but think it is easier to pay or disappear people who know about the emails in that respect. Hunter leaving laptops wherever he goes seems to be the major security issue here.
That would require them to hire an IT person and not an African lesbian music studies graduate for doing their IT work.
Also this. They should recruit Kiwis and from 4Chan to guarantee the most autistic nerds possible.

Plus in the US iirc, an additional problem with Hillary's server was that it wasn't able to be accessed with FOIA requests.

Hunter had to go above and beyond to fuck up this badly.
He had to not turn on whole disk encryption. It asks you to do this when your first turn on your mac.
He had to turn Photostream on.
He had to use the same Apple ID for everything and continue using it even after losing devices.
He had to not click the built in Find My Mac thing on his iPhone and remote lock/wipe the lost devices.

The fact that he continues to use compromised accounts even now shows he cares about absolutely nothing but crack and cooming.

Styx is apparently making future predictions on Big Tech on trying to remove Section 230. Thanks leftists for destroying the internet if this does happen.

After all the shit the internet did, I'm pretty sure the alphabet bureaus are incredibly pissed about the internet nerds, considering how petty they are, they're prolly tech illiterate because they refuse to hire autists to prove some esoteric point about being better or some shit.

Even if NSA went all "Hire the retards" a couple years back, I think.

The DIA (defense intelligence agency) has alot of people who can barely look other people in the face. A bunch of them walk around with a hand on the wall looking downwards. Autistic as fuck but competent beyond 4chan.

I could see a rationale for them doing this. Consider. At the moment sites you like, like KiwiFarms, are protected and so is Big Tech. If Trump reforms 230 it's likely that he'll try to nail Big Tech but not the sites you like. Now one possibility that Big Tech might prefer to that is for it to go away completely. They've got good lawyers and deep pockets and their competitors, the sites you like, could be killed by even one lawsuit.

Since they're almost certainly going to lose protection, why not lobby for their competition losing it too?

Liberalism post 2016 has degenerated into a full blown shut down and destroy everything mode so it makes sense for them including the country itself.
