Not sure if this has been discussed, but just today a Chinese anti tried sneaking in a death threat to Coco using Aqua. Sad thing too, the artist in question was someone who's art she loved. West Taiwanese are getting furious: they got HoloCN axed due to drama and low numbers, convinced Cover to entirely pull out of China and have to watch Coco and Haato come back stronger than ever and with the support of all their friends at Hololive they've begun to weaponize their queen, Aqua. It's so fucking funny this China arc.

Googling “nmsl” leads to an interesting article about its origins. I can’t attest to its accuracy, but the idea that “internet-savvy Chinese youth are becoming more nationalistic, and they are happy to express their fury over how their nation is treated by the outside world” is real funny and ironic. Not only did they hoist their own petard in this case by forcing Hololive’s hand but the fact that they decided to vent their frustration in such a passive-aggressive manner just serves to further demonstrate the impotence of the bugmen to the rest of the world.
