While I agree with Null that it was almost too disgusting to hate watch, I also felt a bit sad by the end. This is a seriously mentally ill woman, who has become almost unrecognizable since she started youtube, and not only in appearance. She’s talking in various voices, having violent as well as subtle tics pretty continuously, and is obviously fast approaching the point where she can’t care for herself.

I really think she should be institutionalized, and it’s a race to see if she first becomes homeless or bed-bound due to fat.

Her roommate is oblivious and obnoxious with his own serious problems and will soon be living in a troon community himself. Her family tried to institutionalize her as a teen but understandably wants distance now that she’s in her late 30s. She’s a problem nobody wants to solve, and while you can’t blame anybody for backing away from this wretched and filthy creature, it’s still sometimes sad. Mental healthcare in the western world has too many ethical problems so people end up unable to help, and the sick end up degenerating into what we are viewing today, and worse.

I don’t know why disgust led to feels but I’m sure it’ll pass.

As for her party, sad is really the word for it. The charade that she even has friends is sad, Peetz' pathetic quasi-coming out was sad, the food was sad, the game was sad, the effort was sad, and even her pajamas were sad. However, she was also cranking up her willfully disgusting side, which obliterated any chance of misty eyes with me. I watched MTR's react to the Halloween party, and she flagged up a couple of things that could mean that Chantal is flirting with a health kick (yes yes, I realize her dinner was basically just processed meat and processed carbs). Sorry to rehash it for people that already watched MTR, and sorry for the upcoming autism from myself.

First, she proudly proclaimed (twice) that the hotdogs had 25% less sodium/salt but that they still tasted "more delicious" than regular dogs. Peetz jokes that means they are 25% less delicious, but quickly points out that he is joking in order to avoid the ire of the gargoyle stationed next to him - perhaps because she has told him that she is now looking to eat healthier. She eats 3 hotdogs, only 2 of which have a bun. She says it's because she likes to have one plain weiner. I could believe her on that and she likes to just wolf down processed weiners without the bun getting in the way, but could she also be working on the principal that if she skips a bun she is reducing the carbs/calories ingested? Not sure on that last point, but she def made the decision to not have the bun as they don't sell buns in odd numbers.

Second, those weird nacho chips made out of beans or whatever that she is quick to point our their protein and fibre content. Classic substitution move, thinking that the secret to losing weight is to eat healthier foods that have been formed into the shape of the kind of foods that they want to eat. Again in her mind the fact it's made from beans and rice counteracts that they are a fairly heavily processed food as they are not a natural form that those ingredients usually come as. Combined with this, the salsa is "fresh" rather than jarred. It's still store-bought rather than homemade (so it's not really fresh is it..?) so still prob has more additives, salt etc than if she made it herself, but hey in her mind it's automatically healthy because it's healthier than some basic jarred salsa. She still ate at least half of the bag of chips and half the salsa on top of 3 hotdogs.

Third, the mini pepsi can. Not a terrible idea, if it is good enough to give you the soda taste you want but in a smaller quantity if you are unable to just quit outright or can account for those empty calories with other dietary or exercise habits. However, if she isn't strong enough to quit soda cold-turkey, is she strong enough to limit herself to just one mini can?

The reason I flag this is that it could be laying the groundwork of some classic Chantal tropes. Either she starts to feel successful in her eating, and goes full influencer mode on camera explaining her dieting practice and then falls off the wagon and gets angry at people pointing it out. Or she hides this healthier eating, falls off the wagon in secret, and the first video we get is her doing a disgusting multi-restaurant mukbang.

when i first saw this image of a 12 year old Chantal, my first thought was that she kinda-sorta resembled a heavier 90s Sherilynn Fenn, facially. seeing it again i am reminded that if someone had intervened on THAT day, perhaps Chantal could have been pretty; she would have been petite naturally if she wasn't so fundamentally fucked up. Talking about how she would have been pretty if she hadn't gone full Jabba will just pamper her vanity when she inevitably reads it. She's a short dumb vain nasty white trash bitch. Being as fat as a henhouse is just God's little way of making sure she's punished for it. Nothing could make her attractive.

Here's a fun thing to ponder: Chantal has never been observed doing anything altruistic. Not ever, not once. It's in the same unattainable sphere as paragraph spacing for her. All of her relationships and interactions are for her own social or financial benefit. Peetz is kept on a leash and abused incessantly, but he's the only person dickless enough to stick around: what few friends she's ever had have peaced out because she's so selfish. She only sees her mother when she wants money or food or assistance of some kind, and was quite happy to potentially expose multiple seniors to COVID the other week if it meant she got to eat baked turkey. She "helps" Grams solely to get an allowance (you know, like a child). She never gives anybody anything, or does anything for anybody. The only time she even appeared to do it was when she made a huge song and dance about feeding that homeless guy, and notoriously had her story blown out of the water as total bullshit. She's never had a selfless thought in her life, and that's why nobody should pity her fat crazy ass: she'd never have pity for you.

And these people would be the first to say they are an "empathy" whenever people would call them out for their selfish, obnoxious behavior.
