I remember exactly when it started, and at the beginning it seemed somewhat plausible. As far as conspiracy theories go, I can believe someone "on the inside" is leaking info. We wouldn't know about the inner working of the NSA otherwise. But once he started making tangible predictions and was proven wrong, his response was "to protect my identity I will occasionally feed wrong information in to keep people off my trail." This was all very early on and still on 8chan.
So at that point, everyone with any sense should have just abandoned it. What I think happened is this is a sort-of revolution Boomers can wrap their heads around. Everything else is pretty obtuse and autistic on the far right and far left, but they hate big government so this is a guy who claims half the government is right on the edge of being arrested. That's a visceral, visual thing that can excite them and they don't need to think much about any historic, systemic, or deeper political issues. The bad guys are gonna be arrested by a cool sheriff, and then America will go back to normal.

Oh yeah, I remember that. There's not much value to anything he says when anything could be misinformation, with no way for anyone to parse what's true and what's not. Especially with a back catalog of nearly 5,000 posts to parse through.

So even if it were all legitimate, Q's posts are so full of red herrings, with no clear-cut timeline nor prize at the end for figuring anything out that it'll only be interesting once we have a legend to go by. Even the Qanon decoders go into some real esoteric shit, like lining up Q's post dates with historic events and timestamp deltas between posts with police codes, like if there were 187 seconds between posts, because 187 is the California penal code for homocide. None of it really proves or says anything though, and the confirmation bias part comes from people saying things like "Q predicted that the riots yesterday were gonna happen because of these three posts and then he said this and blah blah blah". Great, but, that didn't actually warn anyone, and you're only coming to the conclusion after the fact. What's the point of all the proofs and codes and shit if they're not of any use to anyone? And if they are, what's the point of public channels?

Is it one single guy or larper of the week system? What's the proof of origin? Why can't that person be backtracked? Why aren't libs witchhunting the guy? Do boomers browse 4ch? Where and how did boomers acquired this taste of 4ch shitposting? Is there a confirmed proof this guy isn't a whistleblower or something? What was his best prediction?

Probably multiple people considering the phone screenshots from both Androids and iPhones of various aspect ratios. My dick. I don't know, they probably use TOR, it's weird that the 8ch admin never told anyone Q's IPs or confirmed/denied TOR or a VPN. They are, look at the news saying Qanon is evil and his followers are cultists or some shit. Apparently so. Because everyone loves shitposting. No. I don't know, ask your grandma.

Though Q did say authoritatively that the moon landings were real, so that's something you can throw at anyone who denies it just to fuck with them.

I bet a lot of the elite in Britain knew that people like Thomas Paine were right. The British Empire was unusual in that a significant percentage of the people running it knew it didn't really make any sense. When Orwell, who was a colonial administrator in Burma wrote about the ruling classes being 'half liberal' he was talking about the British one. It probably wasn't true of many other empires in the past and it certainly isn't true of the Islamic State or the Chinese empire now. Those are led by true believers. Of course, being a colony of the UK is much more likely to lead to independence as a democracy rather than being exterminated or enslaved, which is the likely fate of anywhere trying to break away from Communist or Muslim empires.
