Wait for a conversation about how white people are evil because of slavery (you won't have to wait long, trust me, it spontaneously happens at least 5 times a day for them) and then come at them with facts about how white Europeans bought slaves from other black people. They have this image in their head that white Europeans waged endless war throughout Africa and personally captured each and every slave that came to the New World by brute force. While plenty of slaves did come from raids, most of them were just straight up bought from black tribal leaders who had already captured and enslaved them among tribal infighting. There are still statues of some leaders in Africa who were directly responsible for selling slaves to european merchants. At this point in history pretty much every "group" has enslaved another at some point - it doesn't make it right or excuse it but it's hardly as though white people are the only racial group in history to commit atrocities.

So you see kids coming out of high school fresh and moldable like play doh, not really having concrete political views outside of what they supported to maintain popularity in high school, and they go into this college environment where they're essentially told that only progressive people are smart, anything not in line with SJW/progressive thinking is outdated and based in bigotry and hate, and that the entire world would be better off it only it weren't for those meddling white people and their mangy desire to conquer humanity.

Absolutely. Slavery was something that happened to every racial group, and was perpetrated by every racial group. People often enslaved their own people. Many Europeans came to the US in the past few centuries to escape from "serfdom" in their countries of origin.

Indentured servitude was commonplace among US immigrants around the time of the Revolutionary War. You had to work 10 years for your Master for virtually nothing in order to pay off your shipping fare. The Revolutionaries offered to pay off people's indentured servitude debts as a way to lure people into volunteering for their army.

I know that freed blacks during the time of US slavery frequently bought their own relatives if they were able to track them down. I suppose it was a loophole to protect one's family members, but they're still considered "slave holders" in historical documents.

While watching a documentary about Russia recently, I learned that slavery was legal in Russia until around the end of the US Civil War. I want to say 1865, but I might be off by a year or so.

I've also read more than once that Ottomans were raiding Eastern European towns well past 1800. They'd steal people and whisk them away to work as slaves.

Honestly the best way to do it. If you're arguing with someone that has no power over you don't try and play nice. Don't do that 'you have some good points and I respect you but look at my carefully worded rebuttal' crap. Because if they're true believers they'll just ignore, deflect and deny you.

What happens after that scenario I don't know, but we all know that if that were to happen there would be a legitimate threat of civil war as the actual elites in power would be divided much like the first civil war.

Ive said this in another thread but a civil war threatens more than just left vs right in America. It threatens all aspects of American life, from food and access to water, to destroying an already weakened American economy (affecting the global economy as a whole and probably Americas standing with its allies and relations with other nations) and the second America has any real visible cracks as a world superpower or whatever, youre gonna have someone like China or Russia or whomever trying to get in and cause some real damage. Neither side, especially not the elites want that. It all boils down to money and something like that spoils the money for everyone. I foolishly have always had the ignorant belief that left and right sides kind of collude to a degree, they rely on each other. They would be held accountable if they didnt have the other side to blame. Sure they get shit done but they also kind of need a scapegoat, some enemy to point at that isnt overseas, Even if it did kick off, theyd have to pick up the fucking mess afterwards, and whoever, whatever side wins, nobody wants to have to deal with making a new government or whatever.

As much as I hate politicians like an edgelord teen, globalism has put at lot more at stake were America to fracture than in the 19th century, where America was a more solitary nation and people could go "I hate that guy over this issue and I dont think I can ever get over it. Lets kill each other!" Politicians and the elite, I think, are especially in a place to know that.

Neither party, no side of America wants a civil war and if it got close to that I think most people would be in support of the Commander in Chief considering an act leading to a civil war to be an act of treason and just directly order the national guard or army or whatever to shut it down or whatever would be allowed. As much as the media has been fanning the flames of "This is it!" there are enough people worrying over it that I think there are people primed to put that fire out before it spreads, even though Im a "dont trust the cops, you cant rely on them" type of dude.

Please stay safe. I know that there is little chance of everybody being effected by the immediate fallout of the election, but we've sat back in this last year and watched the impossible become possible.
We have watched a virus evolve from an isolated incident into a plague, we've seen peaceful protests turn to riots, we've been mired in mixed messages and gray areas by both sides this entire year.

Please, for your own sake; be aware of your surroundings, as we have seen; people are already starting to organize in large population centers and all it takes is one person to light the proverbial fuse to a powederkeg that has no real basis in logic, but in opportunism.
Be aware that riots move with police intervention. If they are blocks away; they may very well make their way to you.

I know it may seem like an exaggeration, but I'd rather overstate my concerns than regret saying nothing later. Regardless of whose colors you fly, you deserve to be safe.
Things have always been difficult, but things haven't always been this crude.
I hope that in the end, I'm just being paranoid and nothing happens.
