I did a little more poking around the VA map comparing it to 2016.

VA was called by Baris because Fairfax County has only reported 25% and they are one of the most populous counties in the state, and, being a suburb of DC, they always report late for the Democrat. A few of the Tidewater counties and cities have yet to report as well, and they will likely push Biden into the lead along with Fairfax

One thing that struck me though was that Donald Trump got out the rural vote in a big way. Massive increases in vote shares in counties that were lukewarm on him in 2016. Some of the ones still waiting to report; Hanover, Henrico and Chesterfield, suburbs of Richmond but red leaning and leaning further red than ever before. Rockingham is straggling too; Trump is swinging Fauquier (pronounced “fuck-queer”, no joke) by ten points more than in 2016, and that’s right on NoVa’s doorstep.

A rough count says it’s not enough (they just don’t have the population), but there’s a coalition of rural counties left that are giving the metropolitan areas hell when it comes to the remaining vote. This fits pretty well with the storyline of the election so far in my humble opinion.
