There's no reason to use DREs anymore, and they are more susceptible to fraud than mail-ins because there is no possible paper trail. They are disproportionately used by Bible belt states. If we are going to discount votes because they can be abused easily, the votes for entire states who use paperless DREs should be thrown out because there is literally nothing stopping a central tabulator from changing millions of votes with the press of one button, but it takes much more effort to manipulate mail-in voting. Mail-in voting is sub-par, but in person voting is worse in Bible belt states as far as election integrity. What in the hell does this have to do with nobody calling a state with more than 99% of its votes recorded and one candidate having a multi-point lead and dragging their feet for hours calling other states in the same situation?
I've been following election integrity fights for 10 years, from DREs to scanmachines, to mail-ins. Republicans are opportunistically picking a very specific avenue of voting fraud at a very specific time and only when it benefits them. Republicans have never been known to spearhead election integrity laws, as every election integrity organization is fouded by a Dem, (black box voting etc) and most of the counties that hand count votes are solid blue.
The states in question are at 80-90% with 1-2% differences and most uncounted votes in large cities with Dem leaning citizens.
