You need to educate the working class so they can operate, mantain and factory the machines that replaced them but that also gives them, well, education and insight. Nobody wants an educated voting force, what's the matter with you?
The problem with the 21st century is that automation no longer creates more jobs than it replaces. A tractor allowed us to make do with fewer farmers, but required a whole industrial base for tractors. By comparison, a Management Information System program can replace thousands of white collar jobs in the US with a single Pajeet writing code in India.
