YouTube mass purges popular channels after announcing crackdown on “harmful conspiracy theories”

The banned channels:

Read the link for the conspiratard rantings. QAnon infused blogs seem incapable of doing anything but posting manifestos, dunno why that is. Can't be assed to copy/paste that twaddle.

As an aside, I had never heard of any of these channels, never mind watched them. 🤷‍♂️ Close to a million subscribers on YouTube apparently doesn't mean what it used to.

h/t to Teddy Spaghetti. Saw this on his blog.

I posted about a couple of them back in April in this thread:
I've thought about doing that. I've only ever messed around in a video editor a handful of times, and even I know I could do a better job than the Qanon videos I've been sent by family. Here's a screenshot from a channel with 664,000 subscribers:

View attachment 1218482

All of this guy's videos like that, and nobody in the comments calls him out for it. Every tweet or news article he puts on screen is either stretched or compressed to fill the frame, and it just looks so shitty and lazy. But I guess boomers just don't care.

Another channel, And We Know, at least doesn't stretch out every tweet to the point where they're hard to read, but he couldn't level out his audio if he had a gun to his head. His theme song from the start is incredibly loud, which leads into his relatively quiet speaking voice. Later on, he talks about an Indiana Jones movie from 1984 forshadowing Coronavirus, and the movie audio is barely audible, despite him telling the viewer to listen to what Indy says.

Here it is, timestamped to the Indiana Jones part. You can jump to the beginning if you want to hear how loud the intro is, I just hope you're not wearing headphones.

And those are just two guys who at least edit their videos. There are plenty of them out there that's just a guy in a room on a computer talking into a camera with no editing.

There's also the tendency to look for Q stuff in EVERYTHING. The letter Q is already a very common shape in the world, considering it's just a circle with a line at the bottom, so just about anything that adheres to that is a secret Q logo and is totally a shoutout to us. There was one I saw a few days ago where a ship in the Atlantic steered a giant circle for whatever reason, and some Qanon guy claimed that was a Q, including the tail on the bottom of the circle where the ship continued its course as the tail for the Q. Well, like, yeah, the ship's gotta break out of its circle at some point. How do we know that wasn't just a big O for Obama?
X22 Report's appeal was that he was generally optimistic, much more than most Qanon YouTubers, he had a nice voice, spoke at a good speed, and leveled his audio. It should speak volumes how And We Know still managed to hit 385k without even ever fixing his audio, something even 12 year olds uploading shitposts to YouTube know how to do. It ain't hard.

Seriously, boomer money is real money, and there is a fucking mint to be made here. All of the Qanon motherfuckers I've seen that go on camera all have brand new Macbook Pros and other nice equipment, and some of them simply just read tweets, react to them, pray at the end, and rake in the donations. If any of you guys are shameless enough, you could make a fat wad of cash from America's grandmas.

Oh, yes, just ban the accounts of people who purport that there's a giant conspiracy of evil people secretly in control of the country/world. That'll really tamp down on the conspiracy.
Censor-happy leftists never learn that short-sightedly clamping down on conspiratards is like crack to them. The more they do this the more rabid Q Boomers become. Then that makes the leftists cry to censor them even more. Neither side has the mental ability to engage the other intelligently, meaning they will continue into perpetuity.

My grasp of Qanon is admittedly tenuous because it's insane, but exactly why does the MSM suddenly care? Why do they keep asking Trump about a random fringe 4chan conspiracy group, and why would anyone feel the need to denounce them? Qanon wants to defeat cannabilistic baby rapists, right? Whether or not such people actually exist, how is that in any way harmful and requiring of denouncing? Just leave the crazy old coots alone. What am I missing?
Qtards tend to be unhinged and potentially dangerous. Some guy already tried shooting up the pizzeria which Pizzagate was centered around. Who knows what Qtards will try to do?
Also, Qanon actually makes preventing child trafficking even more difficult because it draws attention and resources away from legitimate anti-trafficking organizations.

I would imagine a lot of those subscribers are fake accounts, like people do for IG and Twitter
A Boomer (which is half of those accounts) wouldn't know a thing about how to find bots, and the true believers of QAnon consider their movement to be a True and Honest one full of Patriots. These are the same motherfuckers who were posting on FreeRepublic fifteen years ago, and at that point it was by far the largest conservative forum on the Internet (it's even bigger than Something Awful still in terms of current active membership).
Normies always used the Internet, the only reason it seemed like less of them did before 2007 was because the first kids to use it became adults and bought computers of their own.

They're unhinged but aside from the schizo who shot a mob boss, they're fairly harmless and are mostly just clueless Boomer rednecks and Facebook grannies and the occasional 4chan shitposter on /x/. Even /pol/ sees them as a pathetic joke.

The guy who killed the Gambino Crime Family's boss was the kind of guy who'd likely find another reason to shoot someone even if it weren't for QAnon. He really gave off a John Hinkley Jr. vibe.

I agree their insanity does make child trafficking investigations more difficult with their Satanic Panic tropes and concepts recycled from old Chick Tracts, but that's mostly just Boomer traditionalist faggotry and glow spooks doing gay ops to discredit anyone who questions the MSM gaslighting by associating them with the fundies and conspiracy foamers.

The guy who shot up Comet Pizza was probably a lone nutcase but there's a few things about that incident that kind of glow, but could also easily be chalked up to craziness and stupidity thanks to Occam's Razor and Hanlon's Razor.

Okay, I have to ask this question. Is it even possible to hit the sacrum during anal sex?

This is why I lowkey want Trump to win because I feel a defeat would make them become even more autistic.

Honestly, they will find a way no matter what. Much like PUAs, Qultists operate in a fantasy world where they can never be wrong. Woman rejects your sexual advances? It's only because she's in denial or testing you because there is no way you are creepy or undesirable. Trump loses? Trust the plan...this is just a long con.

These people are a frightening combination of gullible and mean-spirited. If anyone has successfully talked a Qultist out of the fog, let me know because I'm stumped.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Pakistani Raheem Kassam, who lives in Britain, and Chinaman Ian Miles Cheong, who lives in Malaysia, are trying to bait American QAnon retards into going out into the streets to fight DEMONrats.

They fail to mention that QAnon is a psyop run by their own Zionist conservative side.

Looking forward to Trump's FBI prosecuting some QAnon retard who replied angrily to either of their tweets before going out and defending himself against antifa.
EDIT: Love this response from QAnon idiot '@JuliansRum'. Literally the only thing Cheong has been doing is posting stupid stuff online, so of course most QAnon kooks have been doing 'as much' as he is.

i regret to inform you that when someone has chosen a cult they are beyond the help of reason, logic, or emotional appeal. they’re trying to fix or fill some great emptiness in themselves and a very convincing snake oil salesman has come along at the right time with the right words. you’ll only make your own life worse in trying to disengage a true believer.

I feel strange saying this, but I really don't think that they are a cult. Not because I think their beliefs are sane or rational, but a cult is about more than just beliefs. Cults have mechanisms that they use to keep cultists in, they keep their members isolated, they replace all of their members interactions with the cult. As far as I can see, Q doesn't force you to forsake all your friends outside the cult (not in a systematic way at least. The degree to which they demonize liberals could lead to that), they don't make you take part in Q rituals, you don't need to permanently mark yourself as a Qtard, and there's no attempt to punish people for leaving. Some people voluntarily do these things in the name of Q, but it's not a thorough, systematic attempt to inculcate members.

In a way it's kind of creepy but also kind of a relief that in 5 years you'll probably have friends (assuming that you have a normal friend network) who were Q fanatics in 2020 and you won't even know. The same can't be said for troons or Scientologists who will (at a minimum) be unable to extricate themselves socially from their cult without making a complete break and being forced to rebuild an identity in opposition to their cult.

my dude i respect your right to a differing opinion on this but qanon is absolutely a cult and meets every definitional criterion you provided. shit is wild.

don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of q casuals out there who in 5 years are gonna be like “oh, qanon? what even was that?!” just like people do now with the tea party (which, lmao, the tea party). but beyond the twitter LARPers and follow-back bonanza boomers are some real sick fucks taking advantage of vulnerable people. witness the multiple incidents of kidnapping and other intra-family violence attributed to qanon, just for a start. don’t even get me going on the “”mole children”” under central park.

tl;dr fuck jim watkins, yeet him and his progeny into the sun

While it's true there isn't a physical location where members can be isolated, QAnon absolutely encourages members to cut ties with family and friends who aren't on board - at best, non-believers are blind sheep and at worst, they're participating in evil acts.

"We are your family now" is a common phrase in QAnon circles followed by love-bombing. That is classic cult tactics.

I know it sounds weird that a "cult" can be based online but I guess modern problems require modern grifts.

It would be interesting for a psychiatric study to go over Q as a cult because if it is one its none standard. Usually cults have a hierarchy fully controlled by the central figure, because no one is fully sure who Q is or if its multiple people its a weird self replicating cult with multiple grifters placing themselves as the cult officers to siphon the benefits. With the anonymity of its "leader" people can form their own little DIY mini cults.

It really is fascinating. The podcast QAnon Anonymous did an episode recently on the original leaders of QAnon and "where are they now". Who are the rising leaders? What causes and hashtags to became unpopular and what trends replace them? The "Save our Children" push was absolutely a knockout for QAnon. I'm sure someone has gotten very rich selling merch.
