True, but if they had the 'glowies' on their side they wouldn't have -needed- to. The CIA and FBI ARE compromised, but its largely upper brass. To have the 'glowies' do this, you'd need the upper brass, grunts, AND middle management to all be on the same page. All willing to risk it all if it fails. And all willing to get past the SCOTUS security and, if a SCOTUS member were to request it, the Secret Service.

The one good thing about the FBI and CIA is that they are monolithic hambeasts of bureaucracy.

If the law says Absentee ballots must be delivered by 9 p.m. ET, and she delivered them 7 hours later, AND they just happen to be mysteriously suspect, AND she has a history of anti-Trump rants...

Well, that's an angle where Trump can challenge them legally.

That's something I'd expect from the Iranian government, not the American one.

If this was happening anywhere but the US the whole world would be criticizing it and calling for free and fair elections.



In a way the best rebuttal of the doomerist position that 'The US will turn into a Uniparty state and there's no escape' is that big chunks of the US have escaped from Uniparty rule in the past and that foreigners like me who doom post are not taking that into account.

They have been stopping regularily around now, and I am fairly secure in Trump winning it with the military ballots. The Georgia GOP forced the democrat strongholds to upload their totals, so no secret ballots. The election commissioner has repeatedly updated each day EXACTLY how many ballots are left, sans military ones.

The New York Post broke the wall of silence, and they censored them for it.

Ayup, about what is to be expected as the conservative counties are holding back from giving their tabulations. It'll probably settle around 1-2K up for Biden, then it just waiting for military ballots which will trickle in over the next few days to a week.

If you look at a lot of local news in Georgia, almost all outlets are emphasizing that thousands of military ballots have yet to be counted.

It would be really, really heinous if the news media decided to call this for Biden, but you know what? I wouldn't put it past them at this point.

After following this for far too long over the last few days, not that I have anything better to do in these COVID ruined times, I think my position comes down to

DOWNSIDE: The situation is very, very serious.
UPSIDE: The Republicans can probably stop this in court if they keep their nerve.
DOWNSIDE: It would be a dire mistake at this point for them not to do this because the new regime will not be survivable for them and I'm not convinced they understand this.
UPSIDE: Despite that, it probably isn't the permanent end of the US as a democracy because it's survived worse situations in the past.
DOWNSIDE: Then again the fact that the new regime won't last forever doesn't mean it can't last for a long time. The USSR lasted almost 70 years. The PRC will last significantly longer than that. Even a few decades of single-party rule can change a country beyond recognition. All the rights Republicans claim to want to conserve will be erased.
