I've been thinking Australia tbh, seems like it might be ok in the long-term. I have a STEM background from a very reputable technical college with what is a currently a great tech job, rich boomer parents, zero debt, no girlfriend/desire to start a family, and live in an extremely nimby/gentrified area that is far away from any major cities, so I'm in a pretty good situation as it is.I can already feel the smug replies about: "What should we do then?" so I am going to pre-empt them:
If you have the money plan to eventually leave the country for better long term opportunities, maybe work with China or something I dunno.
If you don't have the money you are probably fucked tbh.
Anything else should have been done 30 years ago if you wanted to change anything.
I have a feeling the future will mostly just be prolonged decay where the lucky few like myself and my family continue to do well, but the vast majority of youth--both left and right--further slide into serfdom with the delusion that there is a political solution for their problems. Its easy for me to say "just focus on yourself and you'll be fine" when I have such good fortune so fuck if I know what to do if you lack money or are stuck in some shithole city.
