New Jersey, of all places, did set precedent for it as a remedy for electoral fraud. It isn't off the table, though I suspect the SC will prefer to see if a less serious remedy would be possible. Assuming, of course, they side with Trump. Which is not a guarantee.
yeah, and they'll probably kvetch about the costs (after lockdowns drained their coffers) and timeframe because they can't/don't want to wait for all the mail ballots be redone, and those are necessary because deadly corona of course.
it's gonna be interesting to see if people high enough are smart enough to understand that the reputation loss both nationally and internationally is far greater long term than whatever a straightforward direct re-vote may cost. but this is 2020, so...
inb4 "who cares, MSM will narrative will fix it" - politicians are not the average population. you can bet your ass politicians are very aware what's going on, even when the news don't report on it. and as someone else pointed out (can't remember who, sorry, this thread simply moves too fucking fast), it's a completely different scenario fighting abdullah with a grudge and abdullah with righteous anger the usa wants to spread their literal corruption.
Not trying to doompost or anything faggy like that, just wondering what's ahead....
slow painful demise. while this sounds like a doompost, let me explain
most people don't fly off the handle and grab a gun, most either have too much too lose, are not as short sighted or simply not as choleric. instead they'll stop trusting the system, and it doesn't even have to be a conscious effort. people will cheat on their taxes (more than usual), because why support a country that in their mind doesn't value that contribution? little acts of subversion because they stop giving a shit or outright want to sabotage as much as they can in their little sphere of influence. just ask yourself, what are you gonna do if you stop trusting someone, and maybe even filled with powerless rage?
over time, this adds up and gets worse. in exchange, said government will try to "fix" it the only way they think they can: more laws, more regulation, more taxes, which will predominantly affect the lower and middle classes directly or indirectly, accelerating this downward spiral.
there are ways to stem that, just look at florida. they turned it around from being an outright meme to now being a example to uphold how to handle it. but most people are either to ignorant, stupid or both.
"the price of freedom is eternal vigilance" - whoever you want to contribute that quote to (no, not warhammer).
