While I would have preferred Trump winning, I can't say I'm overly upset with the result. I only ever supported him insofar that I hate the people who hate him more than I hate him. He was good for demoralising the left. But as an actual leader? He was absolutely fucking useless, his utterly impotent response to the riots back in the summer proved it.

Trump was only ever in it for himself, and all of the Trump supporters on /pol/, r/the_donald and this very forum who saw him as some kind of saviour of America against progressivism and social justice ideology got taken for a ride. What Trump did back in 2015 was take advantage of the backlash to the left that was already well underway and narcissistically co-opted it purely for his own ends. By the end of 2017 he threw them under the bus the moment they had outlived their usefulness to him in getting him elected. It's weirdly cathartic seeing Trump finally fall flat on his face even though I still wanted him to win.

Getting higher taxes through would be difficult with the Republicans in the senate. Same with the higher minimum wage and so on.

As far as mask mandates, the courts already said shit like Michigan's rules were unconstitutional (if I remember right). Plus Dems are loving having thousands of people cheering in the streets, so everyone's sorta giving up the fantasy that they gave a shit about coronavirus.

What is fucked is foreign policy which the Executive branch has few restrictions on. So we're probably going to see a new war with Biden wanting to take out Assad and/or Iran and/or any number of other places. Plus the Dems aren't really bothered about using the DoJ to push their political policies, so that'll be something (as far as higher up political enemies those sorts have enough money to fend off the DoJ's bullshit).

Also we'll probably see the Patriot Act make a comeback with even more heinous shit attached to it given how Biden and the GOP love their oppressive and authoritarian intelligence agencies. I expect if/when Biden signs it back into place that it won't even get reported on by most media, who if they do notice it later on will at most just blame Bush.
