They won't do that because the network top brass wants Carrey. Lorne's always taken shit from the network over not hiring Carey decades ago, as they have held an eternal grudge that Lorne didn't think Carey was funny/refused to hire him only for him to both go on to make In Living Color a top rated show for Fox but also become a huge movie star. In that regards, Carey getting the Biden gig is Jim's revenge and I would not be shocked if NBC's also forcing Lorne to keep Carey around in hopes they can get Carey to agree to do a TV show for them.

He played W as a functional retard who was doing the best given his impaired mental facilities and simple minded view of the world and who legit meant well. Think Corky from Life Goes On as President. Ferrell's W was more of a goof than Machiavellian monster and SNL didn't go that route with Bush until Ferrell left and they forced Will Forte to replace him with Forte ordered to play W as mean and evil, due to Ferrell having enough pull behind the scenes that he resisted Lorne and company wanting a malevolent W.

Surely it is unjust to have been born to perform one task: moving Trump product, hawking the Trump brand, filling the Trump coffers, endlessly pitching and selling and managing the Trump units that filled the Trump warehouses, and the Trump wine bottles, and the foreign Trump factory storerooms full to bursting. That was the destiny you should have been left to fulfill, with its empty slogans of feminism and faith, equality and motherhood, globalism and environmentalism. But of course, feminism and faith, equality and motherhood, globalism and environmentalism are real values. When not just being repurposed to help you hawk midpriced kitten heels, each demands the arduous work of justice. Humility, I understand, is not on brand for Trumps but attempts at any of these fundamentals of justice without humility is actually just shilling.
If and when you look back at your life, maybe you will realize that this is where it all went wrong: You were superb at the pitchman stuff, and maybe if your creepy dad hadn’t decided to run for president, you could have stayed in that branded plastic world of warehouses and factories and skyscrapers. But transactional justice words pressed through gauzy Instagram filters are not the stuff of democracy or morality, equality or faith. You’ve had great fun with this whole governance lark, to be sure, but frankly, the pain and suffering your dad so relishes make for bad influencer vibes. And in the end, when things became desperate, you committed fully to his side, changing your position on abortion and even voting itself. You would preserve your proximity to power at the expense of American democracy. Despite all the years of breathy talk of equality and dignity and empowerment, you—like your dad—think justice is the thing you alone are owed.
Unfortunately, the Trump™ brand now includes family separations, environmental denialism, global degradation, needless pandemic deaths, LGBTQ affronts, and petulant, truth-free grievance, none of which can just be shipped out and sold like last year’s sagging merch. The shattered shiny detritus is littered everywhere, and the cleanup work will take years. And though it may be a designer fragrance, the smell of complicity lingers. Even at its glossiest, the Trump™ catalog was never all that interesting. Please, oh please, take me off your list.

Anyway, here's the top post on r/politics right now. Going from an endless stream of TDS to wholesome 100 apolitical puff pieces on Biden didn't even take a day. I'm convinced the majority of the TDS afflicted know they're complete hypocrites and simply don't care. I think they used to care about hiding it somewhat, but I doubt that's even a factor anymore.

It's been heavily rumored that Biden made a deal with the devil to get the neocons to publicly stab Trump in the back via the Lincoln Project and that part of the deal was he'd appoint neocons to his cabinet.
This also ties into a story floating around that Biden has told Harris, Schumer, etc that he plans on calling McConnell's bluff by only nominating conservative Democrats/neocon Republicans to his cabinet and telling Harris etc to not even bother bringing up names of Democrats who are "controversial" or ultra left wing, due to him having promised key seats to the Never Trumpers and wanting to avoid giving Cocaine Mitch ammo to immediately shut down Biden's attempt to fill his cabinet.

Even if this fantasy comes into fruition which I'm sure it won't, there's no way you would see this happen before these people go on an all out assault on Trump and his family and every major Trump supporter. They will all effectively be demoted and fired from any notable position they hold in the private sphere (I'm definitely looking at Hannity and Tucker in Fox News) and even in the public one too (mainly the civil servants), investigated, doxxed, etc. Once they're effectively buried, then they might turn on each other just like the Jacobins, the Russian Communists (that is both the Menshiviks and Bolsheviks), and the so-called Spanish "Republicans" did.

You say that but I'm not sure where the Republican party would to go without Trump. They clearly can't go populist, the Democrats have made it clear they won't stand for that. Sticking to their usual tactics is not going to do them any good either, that's what got Obama elected in the past. They'll have to reinvent themselves, and I don't think the Democrats will allow them to. The specter of Trump will always haunt them.

Republicans got more Latino votes under trump this elections, it’s now or never for them to finally include them. Perhaps with blacks as well. The again, they could go with populism again this time with a minority leader and see how it goes from there.
