It used to be an unpopular president merely retired into obscurity, like Carter did or Bush Sr.

Now, to be honest, it would be in Trump's best interest to leave the country after he leaves office.

The Dems and the Neo-Cons will never be happy until they have destroyed him, because 4 years of Hitler propaganda have made it so he can't just be a "former US President" but he must pay for his perceived sins and his family be destroyed.

Having said that, what happened with Trump's reputation? Trump used be a celebrity that was ... admired by many people. Rap songs, endorsements, parodies, cameos.

Now, he's practically the most hated man in existence. He's an asshole, there's reason to despise his policies, even the man. However, it's to the point where hate turns to an extreme.

After seeing those effigies of Trump being carried around and vandalized/mocked upon Biden's supposed victory announcement, the retribution being hinted at by AOC and her ilk, and the obvious swampy establishment picks Biden intends to hire back on, I have come to that same exact conclusion as you that we're dealing with a mass psychosis. They love to call people like us "evil dehumanizers," but they project harder than an IMAX theatre. The only defense is to keep your powder dry and Minecraft them if they make the first move, I'm afraid.

Because from the moment Trump won the GOP nomination he's been the focus of every single cultural figure the left has. Social media, news, Hollywood, academia. From late night tv to every mainstream media company to paid shills on the internet it's been non stop ORANGE MAN BAD.

Betrayal. Trump is a rich elite who previously hobnobbed with the likes of Jeffrey Epstein, has enough fuck-you money to hold his own, and dirt that could possibly send the vast majority of these politicians, celebs, businessmen, etc. to the electric chair if ever revealed.

They all turned on him because they are mortally afraid of him.

If his presidency has shown me anything, it's that money can also potentially destroy evil, too. Why he de-facto chooses to defend the USA instead of exploit it like his oppositon, I don't know. All I do know is that I am glad he's holding the tide of this election back before Biden dooms us.
