Yes, but it is representative of how poor a father the man running for president is and said man running for president has covered up many of his sons crimes (or been party to them). I get that Matt wouldn't really think this way given how little of shit he clearly gives about his wife's kids, but a presidential candidate should be able to keep their own family relatively clean of crime and on the straight and narrow in order to demonstrate to the voters that they can do the same for the country (or at least not be blackmailed through their own family by foreign powers).

Yeah he's not running for president, but the Left (including Matt) nail all of Trump's children to the wall for just breathing. If there was videos of Ivanka or Eric running around doing Coke, even if it was years ago, they'd call for an investigation into the president. I'm sure Kamala would even ask if Trump provided, and it'd be the EPIC CLAPBACK HEARD AROUND THE WORLD. Probably even include the Russians, somehow.
Their "high ground" of not involving presidential children ended when the news was diagnosing Barron with autism after one of his first public appearances.

In fairness to them, it did start with people saying stuff about Chelsea's looks. But those people were ridiculed for being mean to presidential children and the left did have the high ground there. Now if they are affecting policy, like Ivanka, they absolutely deserve to be talked about, so if Hunter was funneling money from the Ukraine and/or China to Biden, as some people contend, it would be nice to know that.
But it's not even the Trump kids that they go after. They went after Charlotte Pence, Pence's daughter, because she wrote a kid's book about the vice presidential bunny. It's a tradition to talk about presidential and vice presidential pets and Marlon Bundo, Pence's bunny, is the only pet.
