I'm not taking sides, But I saw this on RYPN.ORG. It seems whoever Pocket_Sand received his information from wasn't correct about a few things. Here is a quote from Afboon. In titling: 2015 Delaware, Lackawanna & Western 565 status update. Posted: Sat May 30, 2015 8:44 pm

I have no idea about that project so I don't know if Len was there or not, personally. No offense but it sounds vague. I'll just let you and Pocket_Sand! hash that out. That forum is full of railroad jargon and it bores my brain to read it (no offense to the guys who dig that stuff). If you have any awesome Shaner stories please feel free to tell them.

I've been reading this thread for about a week now and I cannot tell you how much joy it has brought me to see Shaner's antics all laid out in one glorious thread! From the bottom of my heart, thank you all! I do want to say that most train guys - and girls, amazingly there are a few - are great people. Most of them are like antique car guys, their interests are just, larger. Most have wives, jobs and homes of their own.

Now, for my contribution. This, like a number of other early Len legends took place before the internet became what it is today.

For years Len used to proclaim that he was the "Official Videographer" for an unnamed regional railroad here in Pennsylvania (he wasn't of course). He would boast this to everyone he came in contact with or use the lie to harass people who would "interfere" with his work, namely other less autistic railfans also out for a picture or video. One day a small group of railroad employees approached Len to reprimand him for trespassing on that company's property, to which Len angrily replies: "I'm allowed to be here, I'm the official company videographer, I'm close personal friends with the owner Mr. Smith! One of the accusing people asks Len "Can I see your company I.D. card? Here's Mine, I'm Mr. Smith and I own this railroad"! After which Len sulked away. Oddly enough, he still claimed to be the company's official videographer long after, well into the era of online forums, Youtube and Facebook.

This guy is the boil on the ass of everyone who works for a railroad in any capacity in the Eastern PA area. The mere mention of him name will make grown men cringe, and then immediately start telling their own Len horror stories. I've got a few of my own, having been career railroad for about 20 years. I started to recount in my mind what I know about him and my head almost exploded. I'll be sure to share more as this progresses.

If Mr. Shaner is banned from the properties of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and Strasburg Railroad , How come he was able to have a cab ride in #90 in 2005 ?
