#Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

It would be much better to have a least a little comic talk on here rather than a back and forth where @FROG is explaining the same thing over and over again about the mainstream industry and someone else goes "well acckttauuuually". It's getting tired.
We have a Hangers-On thread dedicated for shitflinging back and forth with Frog (the enforcement of this has regrettably lapsed) and an entire sub-forum dedicated to normie comics discussion. This thread is meant for Comicsgate-specific discussion. Since you often talk about how you founded Comicsgate and all that I figure the least I can do is talk about what you get up to from time to time.

In other Comicsgate happenings:

Mecha McCheese, surrounded by multiple factions that mostly hate and despise him, ignores everything going on to take aim at the most worthy target - Charlie's London, arguing that any movement that has Charlie in it does not deserve to exist. Mecha is an individual who doesn't believe in group association, defining himself more anti-Charlie's London than anything approaching "CG" or "Anti-CG".

Word of Mecha's commentary regarding Charlie's London and her same-titled project, made during Nasser Rabadi's "Drama & Comics", somehow got back to the British academic and Chaplin husbando advocate. Matters came to a head during a Frog show titled "MORNING SHOW Drama Stream! Live!" where Frog gave his reaction to a late night debate between Mike S. Miller, Mecha McCheese and Testefy_HD on Miller's stream regarding on the failings of Comicsgate. Frog's riposte, before interest in the topic petered out two minutes into the video, was that Smiller's streams are aimless and boring, a critique that perhaps carries less impact when your co-panelists are Adam Post being confused and old pontificating on stuff he knows nothing about like making comics and youtube along with Eric Weathers livestreaming his face as he gives viewers an inside look in the world of lettering comics. Heroically, the normally upbeat and pacifist "Charlie's London" saves the "drama stream" by injecting some actual drama into it by full meltdown at the sound of Mecha's voice.

Shortly after, Charlie recused herself from Frog's show citing "low phone battery", But this was not to be end of the matter:

11/08/2020 - CHARLIE SPEAKS TO PUBLISHIN' PETE' AND ALTERNA COMICS

At around 5 minutes in and her guest running late, Charlie's London addresses her "uncharacteristic outburst" on Frog's show, hemming and hawing about the circumstances of the unnamed individual in question before laying completely into the topic at hand and her outrage at the criticism levelled that Chaplin's story is unsuitable for a comic, that the medium has an expectation of heroic character that a silent film actor simply falls short of fulfilling, that the topic was better suited to an academic paper as is her speciality and that her rise in Comicsgate and patronage was the result of her buying popularity through the form of regular superchats. She wants the unnamed individual to know that she's had quite enough of all this and at 9:24 of the stream extends an invitation for the person in question to come on to her show so she can address these accusations in full. Afterwards Pete Simeti finally arrives to relate the challenges of being an indie comic publisher, like when your creators decide to get real jobs and ghost you mid-project and complicating your subscription IndieGoGo.

After making some inquiries, I have learned that Mecha McCheese has accepted this invitation to what is sure to be a memorable and entertaining debate.

In a reversal of genders, Ya Boi Zack addresses dannphan, the creator of Orgasm Girl and her taking him to task over his comic PANdemIC and Zack's bold vision of replacing the mainstream's badly written, badly made, politically charged floppies starring women of color with the sides of their shaved head for $5 a piece with... badly written, badly made, politically-charged floppies starring women of color with the sides of their heads shaved sold for $25 a piece. Dannphan's criticisms can't be so easily dismissed as a matter of personal taste either as she points to objective technical errors like the perspective grid being left in one of the panels.

Zack says that he'll be correcting the perspective grid error in a second release, so take that. No word on if he'll be correcting the perspective involved in a 12 foot-wide suspension bridge where figures get larger as they recede into the distance itself. Embarrassingly, Simple Zack also argues that none of the "industry pros" he sent preview copies of his work to noticed the error either, not realizing that this means they're just humoring him and saying whatever he sends them "looks great" without actually looking at the product. At this point it's up in the air if Zack will actually fork out for an editor for his comics or will he continue to get his work critically curbstomped by the creator of Orgasm Girl. We'll just have to wait and see.

There's actually a deeply amusing twist to the Dannphan printing error saga, which is that it isn't an error at all.

It's exactly how the Brooklyn Bridge looks:

Hey it's ya boi Dongs. Man, it's pretty crazy after delivering so many factcheck and critical posts to be on the receiving end for once. It really opens my eyes to what it's like. Ha ha uh yeah. It's a bit late now to correct what I've already said but future posts will have the correct information regarding the PANdemIC bridge while this one can be considered a collector's edition. That's all for now, bye.

A lot of anger directed at Nasser.

And he IS fooling us. We're happy to welcome him back, whether he's actually back or just fucking with us.

It's all part of the show.

I'm not mad, I'm amused. It is indeed all part of the show. Nothing about you or your show is sincere, so no one should expect your dancing monkeys to be sincere either.

You're not amused. Mr. Dongs is amused or amusable. That's why he kicks back and enjoys the show without interfering.

You're an assmad retard who is pretending to be amused, but can't hide his jealous anger. And none of this matters at all, so it's VERY retarded for you to even comment.

Who cares?

Oh, now you're a mind-reader? lol. Like anyone besides Liam actually gives a rat's ass that Nasser is back in CG. It's not exactly a paradigm shift. It's Nasser.

You clearly care. If you didn't care, you'd just sit back and observe for the "lulz". Instead, you're trying to influence Nasser by calling him a monkey.

Only I get to do that.
