Haven't right-wingers viewed the Feds as a parasitic occupation government with only token input from the populace since the Civil War ended? How would this be any more widespread than 1990s militia bullshit?
Sorta yes, sorta no. Let me put it this way: I have never met someone who actually expressed faith in the political system to function properly, except in the immediate aftermath of a result that they personally liked. I doubt you'll ever see it admitted, but my conclusion is that this country is only kept together by a silent agreement that we should all pretend that everything is fine, because the alternative is, well, the kind of thing that gets one called a doomer and told to keep looking on the bright side, because it is very, very unpleasant. What we're seeing with this election is the situation moving closer to the point where it becomes more unpleasant to stick with the lie than it is to embrace the alternative.

Thomas Jefferson said:
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

How about a monarchy/an empire so the people in charge are not easily corrupted or lunatics that try to replace the native populace?
Everything we consider corrupt and insane was commonplace under monarchies. The only thing worse were oligarchies, kind of what we're turning into. Benevolent monarchs existed, but they often had terrible children. Just look at Marcus Aurelius and his shithead of a son who only got the Empire because his homie heir was killed by his own men when he marched to claim the throne.

Fucking hell, just look at every Roman emperor for an example as to why absolute power is a bad idea, even if it can be used for good.

A meritocratic representative democracy is the best system we have, whether you like it or not.

Republicans keep flipping House seats.

Only need 4 more for majority and of the races still counting they're up in 2 and close in 2. Democrats if they hold on are likely to only have a 1 or 2 seat majority.

But Biden inexplicably defied the red wave that swept the country including the 5 states that he "won" to get "over" 270.

Uh huh. Sure.

This would have been the first time that would have been done in a long fucking time. I forgot how long, exactly.

Cocaine Mitch told him to stop being a faggot.

I'm sure they are for the Senate seats, but some added support doesn't hurt. Just make him go first or you'll get a knife in the back.

Have you ever read a history book? Serious question because anyone calling for a monarchy is a retard.

The only good monarchy is a constitutional monarchy IMHO, in which the monarch is not above the law and there is some kind of representation for the common man.
The best system is one where only leaders I like get into power, and never leaders I dont like.
In MeatTargetstan, booze and ammo are currency and Catholicism is the state religion.

I would agree, but that was before I learned about Habsburg jaw.
Because absolute monarchs are known for their lack of corruption?
Sure it's not perfect but at least these systems tend to be long lasting and provide stability. The Holy Roman Empire lasted a thousand years, today we have politicians that mass import foreigners in order to win voters (if we're generous), changing their countries in ways that cannot be reversed without force.

Similarly the only good republic is a constitutional one, which is what the USA was founded on. The shared principle there is separation of powers and avoidance of total autocracy.

I like how AP still hasn't called NC and motherfucking Alaska for Trump
We might not know who won for months. Results not final.

BIden won? It's over, everyone! Shut it down!

It's crazy how similar this is to Biden vs. Bernie. Biden just had to get over 270 by the smallest values so he wins and we're supposed to easily accept it... or else.

This faggot prefers stability over liberty. Just like the Dems.
