Megathread SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors - the medical community of experimental surgeons, the secret community of home butchers

I posted this link over on the Tranny News thread, but maybe it should have been here instead. It's a long, rambly piece from The Guardian about how a six foot four ogre with giant feet, shoulders and hands believes that shaving the odd millimetre from his skull will magically make the rest of the world believe he's a woman. The poor guy doesn't realise that what he's paid for is the 21st century equivalent of the comb-over, something that sort of vaguely looks OKish from one angle if you squint a bit. It's quite detailed on the surgical aspects, which begs the question what the fuck was the surgeon doing letting a reporter stand looking over his shoulder while he did this. But then I think of the photos of the surgeon standing shirtless next to two young women whose tits he's cut off, and I know what the answer is. It really is a special breed of surgeon that goes in for this work. How many other surgeons go to this much trouble to advertise their work. Do women who have had boob jobs discuss the relative merits of different clinics.

He drew back her skin in either direction from her hairline until it gathered in folds on one side at the tip of her nose, and draped back across her crown on the other. With a tiny steel mallet and a chisel, Altman set to work carefully chipping away her brow bone, before filing it with a tiny drill bit. Then he stopped, and everyone in theatre craned in to see the difference.

When he was satisfied with the result, Altman changed his gloves and turned his attention to her forehead. The MRI on the lightbox showed Drake had a large sinus cavity with a thin wall; the challenge was to saw the bone down without perforating the sinus, and the best way to do this was to remove part of her forehead entirely. Altman drew a 5cm by 3cm rectangle on to her skull with marker pen. He sliced into it with another fine tool, then prised out the section of bone. He held it in his hand as he filed it back, turning a flat plane into a gentle curve. When he put it back in place, he pulled the skin over it, tilting his head to the side to check his work. Finally, the piece of forehead was fixed back in the skull with two 4mm titanium plates, which his trainee, Maini, secured using a tiny screwdriver. Drake’s skin was smoothed back for a last time. “Good,” Altman nodded.

The final procedures were on Drake’s brow and hairline. First, the brow was lifted and anchored by two stitches. Then Altman drew in a new hairline, a centimetre below Drake’s natural one, and sliced out the excess strip of skin. He fixed the hairline in place with a ladder of surgical staples at her temples and blue stitching along the top of her forehead, with a practised tilt of his wrist. Altman was right – I could see the difference there and then on the operating table. Drake’ protruding brow bone, which she had struck with the side of her index finger when she told me about the “poison” of testosterone, was gone.

The little teeny tiny tools are what makes the piece for me. I look at the pictures of that massive guy and think, no. He could have gone for the Dremel. He could have gone for the Black and Decker. He could even have taken inspiration from Norm on the New Yankee Workshop. He might have got some visible results. But instead he chose to faff around with a tiny mallet and a tiny chisel. This is why we all look at those before and after pictures and struggle to see a difference. It's not done for the general public. It's done for the loony who will spend days staring at it with a mirror held just inches from his face. After all he's the sucker paying the bill.

I suppose that's better than some of the other examples in this thread of people crippled by facial feminization surgery.

I noticed there was a reference in the article to GenderGP which has been in trouble numerous times for shady business practices and helping countless potential percentage points get their hormones. It's presented without even a mention.

Dr. Altman was made a director over at Queen Victoria Hospital for NHS Trust last summer. He DFE'd his personal website in 2020 but WayBack has quite a bit:

Including a page for facial feminization surgery.

Women who get boob jobs do discuss different surgeons, yes. And there’s a whole lot of sleaze among ‘regular’ plastic surgeons. A girl died while getting a boob job because the doctor and the nurse anesthetist left her alone while she was under anesthesia. I would recommend watching Botched to see how bad surgeons can be.

If you are that large, just embrace it and claim you were a college basketball player. Way too many of the girls on my college's team looked like men. (This was in the stone ages before trans was so popular)

Not sure whether there's any truth to this story, but it is entertaining and horrifying.

Frankly, this bizarre result looks like the offspring of a Klingon and a horseshoe crab.

Dr Marc Arnkoff has been discussed in this thread previously. He's a Michigan-based urologist, and keeps his online presence very minimal and blandly professional.

Edit: Added spoiler tags, apologies all.

Omg the comments.

"Congrats! But uhm...what surgery was it?"

These idiots don't even know what surgery he had and yet they are congratulating him. Troons words mean nothing at all. It's just ass kissing. No matter how horrible the result, no matter that they have no idea what kind of surgery someone had - they always say some fake positive bullshit.

I could believe it, prolapses are a common documented problem with post op transsexuals and an NIH study documenting microflora in neovaginas found that typical good bacteria are absent while things like bacterial vaginosis, bacteria from other parts of the body (skin, intestines) and malodorous discharge were common. I could have told you inverting a penis creates an open wound with all the attendant problems and not a vagina and I'm just a shitposter, but apparently it took ten doctors to confirm this.

"Sex change surgery" also refers to a huge range of procedures with a ton of variability which are all guarded like trade secrets and even the butchers performing them have no idea what the long-term effects are - doctors are probably still learning new and horrible things in this field like the rest of us.

What’s an orchiectomy supposed to look like?

Anyone have any posts of troons regretting their orchiectomy since it drastically reduced their sex drive? It does, right, since it’s the same as neutering a dog?

And when these butchers refuse to fix the results of their catastrophic malpractice, often real doctors outright refuse to touch these butcheries. Why would they? A real doctor can be sued for malpractice unlike some quack in Thailand, and touching these butcheries just opens them up for being blamed for what some quack did, not because they did, but because they're operating in a jurisdiction where robust malpractice laws actually exist.

Good question, to which there don't seem to be a lot of answers. Perhaps because it's regarded as more of a functional procedure to lower testosterone, rather than a true sexy woman one. As far as I can tell there's no standard procedure and it varies between doctors, but simple orchiectomy is the common one for transgender patients (as opposed to inguinal which is a cancer treatment and more radical).

Dr Bowers has a single example online, Pre & Post Orchiectomy w/ Scrotectomy:
Bowers orchi.png
From what I understand, scrotectomy is only performed if the patient doesn't want to have a neovagina contructed later on. According to another Reddit post, Arnkoff makes 2 incisions 'to limit bleeding' - link below - though I gather a single central incision is more common.

Orchi regrets at 21 years old:

He only asked for 3200 oop
presume it means "Out Of Pocket" so in essence a butcher-for-hire. Pay here, get loped there, no questions asked.

Apparently it's informed consent, according to this post about an Arnkoff orchi. It's long and not especially informative, but it does confirm the price, and that he doesn't require any sort of psych eval. Archive.

Overview of orchiectomy from Susan's Place wiki.

Also cumbrain wanted to coom more so he got rid of the only thing that made him coom.

Different kind of post-nut-clarity.

You'd think that they would consider all possible downsides before commiting to something so drastic or that their doctors would warn them, but they always seem so surprised by it. I'd feel sorry but they are just absolute idiots.

I don't know which is more horrifying: knowing that it was Arnkoff work or that the example of Bowers looked better / more likely to heal.

The regret posts from these young adults who have maimed themselves are heartbreaking because they're in the troon echo chamber. Even if they can't tell what surgery you had they're congratulatory and if you express regret or concern they love bomb you like a cult to keep you in the fold. It's only when they really make the break that they're suddenly outcast.

Considering these individuals sacrifice their identity to the movement it isn't difficult to see why their suicide rate is so high. You can't leave, and staying is a master class in self inflicted rot.

I posted this in the Tranny Sideshow thread but preliminary studies show that people who do get the chop are 28 (!) times more likely to attempt suicide in the year they got the chop than those who don't. I'm sure such studies will be buried by TRAs though.

Oh absolutely agreed. I remember reading horror stories long ago about people regretting their GRS.

Look at Trudy Kenedy who founded the disgraced but somehow still "great" Monash clinic in Australia with Dr. H. Bower. Gems such as: I'll never have sex again circa 2009.

One former patient who had surgery when he was 21, maintains that he was misdiagnosed as a transexual by Dr. Kennedy. He underwent surgery to reverse the original procedure and says he now lives as a “mutilated freak”. He received a damage award.

Follow up on the psychiatrist who has a long history of helping push these individuals into surgery.

The clinic somehow survived but even acknowledges (blithely) their horror show of a past.

Certainly the “Gender Dysphoria Clinic” was not without its controversy and in 2009 the clinic risked being shutdown following an internal review of processes and fallout from litigation procedures.

SRS / GRS is a complete cottage industry that peolle just cannot seem to escape intact.

This particular clinic and (the late) Dr. H. Bower and Dr. Trudy Kenedy have been at it back to the late 80's with little recourse to their victims.

ETA: Grammar.

I don't know... I mean, I get that it's a cult, I get that it's wall to wall misinformation, I get that these people are lied to, I get that they're groomed by predators... but on a certain level I just think that the majority of these 'victims' are getting what they deserve. I don't mean the kids obviously, a young child or teenager is simply incapable of consent in these cases, I mean the adults. Once you hit your twenties, you should be able to think this shit through. What happens to an animal if you cut its balls off? It stops wanting sex. All around you are desexed dogs and cats and various many other animals with no balls, and do they have have a sex life? Maybe you'll get an occasional dog or cat who'll hump a pillow or your leg, but it's pretty obvious that even given the opportunity, they'll never be fully sexually functional again. So you've got these idiots who desex themselves and are then surprised that they suddenly have no sex drive. Well, what else did they expect? I know that this mostly applies to AGPs , but fuck's sake, basic logic here.
