Man from a foreigner perspective it seems a terrible idea having Republican and Democrat judges, it just lets an entire side discount the judgement as a political rather than factual judicial decision. I realise that's a product of the Democrats trying to rule through the judiciary and it's coming to bite them in the ass irrelevant of who wins.

I don't know the full intricacies of appointing a supreme court judge other than watching the Kavanaugh shit show (incidentally I used Google to check the spelling of his name and the entire first page is results about the nonsense accusations) but I would think something like needing a supermajority to appoint would at least moderate the nonsense.

The ship sailed on moderating the nonsense decades ago when the Democrats took down Robert Bork because they didn't want Roe V Wade endangered. Not necessarily. At least one of the advantages of the American system is that judges actually have a chance to be anything but lefty by default like in Italy and most of Europe.

Regardless of this, if the SCOTUS judges vote blatantly ignoring (or worse, spinning) the law... you've got a way bigger problem than you think in America.

People who are pestimsitic to the hard end probably have been disappointed far too many times. Negative experiences stick to humans more than positive ones, magnifying the disappointing parts even more. Getting disappointed by how someone or multiple people act is one path to kiwidom. It's natural we have a lot of gloomy boys n girls, but we shouldn't turn into the doomer thread. Ideally, we should be well adjusted enough to have a resonable amount of both, and not give into echo chambers that keep us sad or overly hyped.

I love you homos, and I'm going to keep positive posting because go fuck yourself. I want you assholes to take a nice balance of stuff in life and keep yourself mentally healthy.

Temper your expectations, but don't let them dip into catastrophic thinking. And don't keep only talking to people who fall into it either

1-It was all the prior shit trying to stop the counts, not the shit we care about.

2-We already knew most of Trump's cases would get thrown out at first.
