The previous wins were very small, just mandating ballot separation and that poll watchers be allowed in to actually watch (and was promptly ignored).

The same justification for "you can't just decide to count the nov9th ones" also applies to the "you can't just decide to take mail in ballots after November 3rd." A Judge can't make that change, the Legislature is the only one that can. Activist judges do not, in fact, have the power to create or change law.

So I actually am mildly hopeful that they'll do the same to the November 3rd thing, and then we see the freakouts begin.

I kinda doubt John James is going anywhere, even if they don't force a recount. He's on the younger side, a well spoken, charismatic, and telegenic black Republican who consistently performs very well and now has a significantly stronger national profile. I really hope that he runs against Gretchen Whitmer in 2022.

And liberals are psychologically attracted to/excited by novelty. If they can't find it, they'll create it, or invite it. The quality of the novel stimuli doesn't seem to be important, unless it's something they are already conditioned to dislike. That's why liberals value things like Piss Christ or the painting of Mary covered in elephant dung, but if a local church commissioned a painting of Christ or Mary they'd ignore it, no matter how well-executed.

Having an entirely novel people arrive in their country, bringing with them strange food, dress, language, and customs is very exciting to the liberal. A constant influx of novel peoples is constant stimulus of the sort they like. If the government supports this, all the better, that just confirms their attitudes and preferences are normative. Anyone who opposes them is not just different, they're wrong, they're dangerous.
