Democrats are taking a big risk obsessing over black people at the expense of Latinos, and they better hope Republicans don't take advantage.
The demands of BLM are getting increasingly insane, and, meanwhile, black people are a smaller and less significant portion of the electorate. They also don't contribute as much to the economy or common weal. No one who isn't massively based would even study this, but I'll put money on black Americans costing the economy more than they contribute to it when you factor in how much it costs to educate them badly, how many government benefits they get, how little taxes they pay, and how much public and private money has to be spent fixing their fuckups.
I think that last part will especially enrage Latinos if Democrats cape too hard for BLM. Most Latinos just want to work and expect a reasonable amount of benefits and political attention for that. When you deny reasonable people completely reasonable asks, things can get ugly.
