They literally wouldn't be swing states if they weren't close. That's what the phrase means. And you can call 60/40 on election night easy, if there aren't enough votes left even to possibly change it. If there are, you have to count every single one. Hence, it takes longer, just as it did in Florida in 2000.

I've heard different theories to the point where I don't even fuckin know lol. I've read several people make claims that if enough of the states are tied up in court and can't meet the deadline then they can use a nuclear option and contest the entire election so that every state sends a legislature selected representative to cast a vote, 1 vote per state, whoever wins most states wins presidency.

If they can't resolve this, the state legislatures can appoint electors, and then it wouldn't have to go to a contingent election. This is the option Florida was threatening in 2000, since it was only two days before the electoral college vote when it was finally dropped.

I've seen some talk like this floated from their side over the last few days, including suggestions to simply install some separate entity which would give him authorization when he needs to bypass congress, somehow, because that is the level of understanding these people have of the Constitution.
Luckily, while the new SCOTUS justices may or may not come to Trump's aid regarding the election, we can feel confident they would strike that down so fast heads would spin from the whiplash. Gorsuch and Barrett may not be beholden to Trump but they do seem to take the Constitution seriously and the type of shit they are proposing is as unconstitutional as installing a monarch.

Watching my more critical thinking, albeit left leaning friends descend into full scale TDS over this 'coup' is disheartening. They have even started parroting the whole 'well the media declared Biden won and theyve done it all the other years too!' nonsense.

Something I've noticed is a complete lack of curiosity in the people that will listen to MSM/FB. They have these entire narratives built up and when you just say 'Why?/Why not?' their response is always "Oh I dunno" followed by "Generic Orange man bad sentiment".

Apologies for the unyielding autism but like fuck I devil's advocate conspiracy theories because its fun and interesting to try and see how someone could reach their conclusions without being completely disabled. Even joking around with them when I try to float the idea of even basic fake moon landing/flat earth stuff (as a joke scenario) they have literally no capability of emulation. I just want to shitpost and have fun with my friends.

Like others have said, you can't reason with people who have been brainwashed. They will fight it tooth and nail, they are already lost, so just give up on them. I know you care about them, but at this point they would gladly sell you out for wrong thinking, so it's better to just distance yourself. It's harsh, but that's where we are now.

As Bezmenov explains in the interview, there are four steps to transform the thinking and behavior of the population:

1. Demoralization - this is a process which can take about 15-30 years to perform (a generation). 3. Crisis - this is a major step lasting up to six weeks and involves a revolutionary change of power. Recent examples include the 2011 upheavals in the Middle East, most notably Egypt and Libya. To Americans, symptoms would include circumventing the Constitution and altering the checks and balances of government, and possibly martial law.
4. Normalization - the final stage is where the populace finally acquiesces and begins to assimilate communism. This can take up to two decades to complete.
