I believe this comes from the idea that since FBK has collabed with Stars and done non-Holo podcasts/other more mainstream content, that you shouldn’t treat Hololivers as idols — none of that pure, untouchable, seiso shit.

The counterpoint to that is that newfag shitters will/already have spilled into the rest of EN’s streams, or worst case scenario, shit up JP’s. This is absolutely valid despite the following rebuttal:

One could argue the fact that Holo EN exists at all spells out that it is already too late for the Holo culture, as along with the massive number of unironic idolfags, clout-chasers and literal children that can’t be contained aren’t going to understand the delicate kayfabe that makes Hololive what it is. The illusion must remain, or else chuubas are reduced to ethots with weeb avatars.

The problem of the Seiso shit is because Cover did not notice that they were crippling their others talents by just sticking to Seiso policies then they forgot that "hey those girls are not real so guys cant stick their peepees on them" the flexibilization started by Fubuki doing collaborations with Ouga and Tenma then they used the "other" holos (this thing annoy me seriously the other branches are used as guinea pigs so the mains dont have to sully themselves example Among us) to keep pushing colabs with other males, Iofi did a colab with Ouga and some artist vtuber that i remember very clearly because he was some kind of bear

The other point is that Enma probably told Yagoo that he had to change his mentality with the EN branch because they were not aimed to Japan but America, the seiso shit just simply dont fly here but he has to be maintained for tradition sake so is more like it was tone down by 50% to comply with american tastes (also because Coco made cool that idols can say profanities)

Thing is, no one in the overseas fanbase gives a damn about the faux-idol seiso stuff, so I don't know why the guy was coming at me about any of that. I asked him to provide examples of what he meant about the JP girls "hurting the brand" but he ghosted - funny, that. Besides, the girls themselves have been letting that all fall more and more by the wayside, and Yagoo/Cover hasn't really been as buttoned-up about it over the past several months; I think they're finally realizing that it's kinda corny and it's better to just let the girls let loose a bit. I'd personally attribute that in no small part to Coco, tbh. She rejected the seiso stuff pretty quick and just let it rip, much to the chagrin of management, but I think they've learned it's a good thing now.

I really do worry about these newfags and flavor-of-the-week bozos shitting up the JP streams more than anything. I just don't want to be lumped in with them just because I'm a non-JP fan.

Also, sorry to hear that Apricot is one of your favorite artists. I pray for you and everyone else that Domo doesn't turn her into another ahegao-making hornyposter. I'm still banking on AtoLive recruiting her too, they seem like they'll just take anyone with a substantial follower count into their fold.

Internationalaudience might be getting bigger with their idiotic chats and charitable SC, but so far there is no revenue stream like the collab and sponsorship with companies like JP did from the english-speaking audience. Those kind of deals with japanese (and formerly wih chinese as well) companies is important since the it reaches a far larger demographic than just weebs watching youtubes on their spare time.

Also, a bit unrelated, but I noticed a trend of traditional streamers jumping to stream on Youtube because Twitch is getting shittier. I can see a bunch of indie Vtubers that streamed on Twitch might jumped ship to stream on Youtube. If so, prepare for the flood

It wasn't that. Calli wasn't able to play games with anyone for like half the stream. Lethal League was small game at launch. This stream made the active playerbase grow 6x in a matter of minutes (actually beating out concurrent players for the sequel) and the thing runs off p2p connections. Safe to say that the issues were due to server overload since they couldn't connect at all but once they got a decent host the matches ran somewhat smoothly for an old ass game that the devs kind of left to the wayside.
