Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

I don’t understand this SJW obsession with having cartoons be queer-friendly and such when literally, and I mean literally, every preteen to teen is watching anime and their younger siblings watch it with them.
At this point, it really looks like only adults are watching these shows, and the kids who watch them are doing it because their parents basically force them to.
Steven Universe is out, all the cool kids be watching My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and One Punch Man.

Maybe they're actually the target demographic of these cartoons now, and that's why they care.

My uncle’s son and daughter have never even heard of these shows and mind you they’re the exact demographic. My younger brother at the time never watched these shows and even legend of Korra was talked about as “eh it was okay” to “no it was really bad”

They don't. The last time I heard Avatar mentioned in real life was in primary school.

I don't know why people here think redditors are representative of average people. Even on Reddit I can't remember seeing it mentioned much, if at all. Ironically I've heard most about it here.

obscure? i don't know if it's just a US thing but when it was airing originally I was the only one in both my class and friend group who didn't know what is was and didn't watch it. although I have only ever heard one kid (i work in summer camps) ever mention the show, as apposed to steven universe, which no one has ever mentioned (more know of Fnaf then SU where I work)

I have acquaintances and friends who have latley brought it up and hype it for binge watching because childhood nostalgia I guess.

What is it with these spergs and "vent" channels on their discords? Every even vaguely "progressive" server I ever joined seemed to have one. Is the whinging, bitching and negativity that overwhelming they require their own containment zone?

Nothing that I want to get into in too much detail, but the tl;dr is that I've seen the following pattern MULTIPLE times at this point in my life:
  1. Some well-meaning soul starts a community on reddit, tumblr, discord, Steam, etc.
  2. Originally only friends, but has the misfortune of attracting new members
  3. Whiny, annoying assholes use the community as a replacement for having actual friends
  4. Assholes with no friends start taking over and taking things off-topic
  5. Creator(s) try to quarantine the spergs with the tactics you use on SPED kids (e.g. "This is you special place for expressing your feelings!")
Bam. Vent channel.

It's a Geek Social Fallacies thing. Despite the nearly blood libel level of bullshit about geeks being evil misogynistic, whateverphobic neckbeards, they've always tried their best to be inclusive and welcoming, often having been ostracized themselves. So SJWs know that this is a population they can re-bully with their utter bullshit because they're actually hurt by accusations of this sort and try to "be better." They don't get that there are some people who actually are so cancerous that only just getting rid of the motherfuckers can save your community.
