And only 18% of the bellwether counties got it right this time.I can accept that Trump lost. I believe I said in this very thread that if he loses it will be due to his assholish demeanor. But what confuses me is that more votes were cast for Biden but not for senate or house races. Why wouldn’t voters that wanted Trump out punish his enablers in Congress as well?
I quickly examined some of the races in key states and vote totals for president and senate races. About 30,000 or so more votes were cast in the presidential race than senate race in Arizona. The democrats gained a senate set in Arizona but there wasn’t the same about of votes for Mark Kelly as there wer for Biden. Several districts in Pennsylvania that went for Biden voted strongly for their Republican representatives.
That discrepancy seems odd to me, and Trump’s repeated claims that the election would be fraudulent certainly convinced many of his supporters that the results should be investigated.
If the results are proven true, then it suggests that Trump’s presentation, not his policies, which were unpopular.
