You mean to tell me that they're not even using a proprietary operating system for one of the most important & sensitive operations in the United States? Not even Linux, just Windows. Now I know these people are fucking retarded. How do stupid people consistently manage to become elites?
In a word, nepotism.

If the election is screwed up this badly due to things like this, and many other reasons, they should just nullify the election entirely and have Biden and Trump have a cage match and it be televised like WWE.

Can we stop calling every new scandal Watergate Boogaloo?

I propose we call this "the hockey stick miracle".

Fun fact, if things had went slightly different, instead of Watergate, they would have been at the Waldorf.

Which would mean that every scandal since then would be called a -Dorf.

GamerDorf? ComicsDorf?

Tl;dr: the current state of affairs is depressing.

I was having a discussion with my wife a few nights ago about the election. She's from Only True China. Ever since we started dating, I've been an insufferable fucking nerd about what makes the United States so great. Why, even though we have a checkered history, the American dream is truly about living up to the ideals set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. We don't always succeed, but we try, and we're all united by that goal.

I feel like the wool has come off my eyes this past year. Not just with the election, but with the whole decade in general. During the beginning of the last decade, I remember finding it hilarious that social justice and SJWs were a thing; I willfully ignored them, because who was autistic enough to believe their dogshit? Now I'm working for an employer that gives unconscious bias training sessions and I routinely drive through neighborhoods littered with BLM signs. My best friend's wife takes part in BLM marches.

We have a news media, empowered by social media, that decide for themselves what is true or false. Everything is politicised. Question the narrative about the Coronavirus, global warming, or election fraud? Did you know what you're watching has been Fact Checked as False? Please refer to this CNN article about how this was the most secure election in the history of the world.

Just last year we had the Epstein debacle where the most important prison in the entire US prison system managed to "kill himself" in his prison cell. Now there's zero interest. Fast forward a year later and we find that Hunter Biden possessed a laptop that had plausible evidence that he was accepting bribes for access to VP Biden.

His father is likely going to be the next President. Only after multiple "glitches" and "mistakes" during the election that all only point to one candidate. All of this on the heels of the Democratic Party blatantly jipping Bernie out of the nomination two times in a row. But this was the most secure election in the history of the United States, you know. Snopes fact checked it for us.

Now you must wear your mask. Don't visit your family during the holidays. Did you just gain stable employment? Sorry, we've got to shut down again. No promises your job will be there when we open back up. You don't want to kill grandma, right? Nevermind that Global Warming was going to kill us all; this is definitely more important. (But seriously, sell your car and move to the city, it's better here.)

It feels like we've moved firmly into a Chinese system of running things. One clique doing whatever it takes, including propogandising the narrative, cheating, and stealing to win. Everything is told through a lens of double-talk and lies. A month ago and the news media told us that we wouldn't see a vaccine until next summer at the earliest. Now they're touting 20 million doses by December. Odd timing, since they're assuming Trump to be out of office.

I'm just tired of it. If my vote and my First Amendment right no longer apply, why the fuck should I? I was apathetic the day after the Election, when it looked like Biden had won with a firm lead. Before I saw all the fraud. Either Biden wins by fraud, in which case the Republic is essentially over and we're no different than the Chinese state, or Trump wins a victory through the Supreme Court and we have four years that make the Russian fiasco seem like a walk in the park.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't believe in Santa Claus anymore.
It's a sad thing too, one of the West's greatest strengths for the past 8 centuries was that there wasn't one group in society with completely unchecked power that ossified things. I guess it's fitting for an ideology built on the "White man raped the world" view of history would destroy the thing that made it so strong, namely internal competition.

The Catholic church tried to make this kind of power grab in the High Middle Ages and the French one-upped them by abducting the Pope and then moving the conclave to Avignon. Maybe something like that is what Trump & his backers are trying to pull off. Otherwise we'll be stuck with some Brahmin India bullshit where one class gets to invent reality and nobody else matters (incidentally records on geopolitics in medieval India are hard to come by because the Brahmins didn't give a shit about such "petty" affairs, sounds a bit like our budding "global citizens" if you ask me).

The same way they got bad kings: less capable children inheriting the legacies of their fathers. A lot of people like to use this point to run off into socialism territory (national or global), but in my opinion, the problem is that the socialism is already in place. In a healthy, competitive market, these men would drive their enterprises into the ground though bad decisions like this, and be replaced by younger businesses that know what the fuck they are doing. Unfortunately, government regulation that proportionally effects small businesses makes it so damned hard for a startup of any kind to take off these days that we get stuck with no viable alternative to the stupid assholes that break everything they touch. It's a government-sanctioned monopoly, so they get to be as incompetent as they please.

This is why there should be more free markets. Without them, incompetency survives.

I remember hearing that Biden called Trump supporters “ugly”. As far as I’m concerned, his calls for unity are fake.
Always were.

As an Obama 2.0 alongside a more incompetent and darker Hillary, even more division is the likeliest to come out if they don't play it their absolute safest. Blacks already got played by Biden and want their gibs (which they're not getting) and we all know the deal with these far left types, which is the fact that there is no deal and they played themselves.

I agree. Should Biden actually win, we will be lucky if there isn't an American-style "Troubles". The national level of anger is as high as I have ever seen it, what with the ChiCom Flu idiocy, the millions suffering because Democratic governors won't allow them to work, and now the Democrats trying to steal the election. Wouldn't take much to see some very bad things happen.

While we're at it...what the hell, why not.

The "troubles" will come regardless of who comes out on top.
