Jon Ronson, did an audible podcast series very tastefully called the "last days of August". It was weird because it tried to promote any reason for her suicide ,other than the obviously vicious campaign from gay pornstars.

Its even worse when you realize she has fucked gays before. Quite a few porn men have done gay porn or only fuck women in porn and exclusively are in relationships with men. It was literally her just not wanting to fuck this particular one that caused this

I think this one was known for being either very risky or hiv+. I still find it funny that these porn stars are "sex positive" who are all about "her choice" but then harass a coworker to suicide because she enacted her right to not have sex with someone she doesn't want to. No August, you have to fuck this gay man and you are going to pretend to enjoy it. That's some rapist level thinking there.

For a crossover, at the time August Ames was married to a guy named Kevin Moore. Kevin Moore was actually a goon who went by Darkpriest. He had a series of Ask/Tells (AMAs) on SomethingAwful over the years where he’d answer questions from goons about the porn industry.

The last AMA went poorly as instead of asking questions about the latest porn starlet or who stuck a baseball bat up her ass (I think Belladonna did this), it was asking why trannies are considered fetish porn and how every porno that isn’t interracial cuckold porn is actually white supremacy. Lots of goons demanded the porn industry suck the collective shenis. Moore got understandably pissed and the thread died. This was maybe a year or so before Ames killed herself.

Another girl killed herself when dating Moore. He must not be much of a shoulder to cry on. Sounds insensitive but seems like there are alternatives to killing yourself, like just walking away from porn altogether.

Yeah the big thing about it was that gay porn and straight porn apparently had different testing standards, and August wasn't okay with that.

This is a documentary from 2001 back when British TV were actually capable of producing decent programing.

It's about a British Pornstar travelling to the US, working with an 'Agent' who sets her up with Max Hardcored (a few years prior to him being jailed)

It's not over edited, there's long interupted shots, and the producers lets the scumbag agent speak for himself, the scene where she finally meets Max Hardcore is almost unwatchable.

This is true. I remember watching a documentary many years ago where people got to meet porn stars they were fans of. One of then was a gay porn star. The guy meets him and finds out he's "pay to be gay", where he gets paid a lot more money to play the role of top in gay porn than he would in normal porn. Shattered the fan's perception IIRC.
